- Best Spas in Houston: Hotel Spas, Korean Spas and Day Spas
Houston is a city where you can spend the morning in a wood-fired Korean sauna off Highway 6 and finish the afternoon with a bourbon body scrub downtown that ends with an actual pour of Texas bourbon. The best spa in Houston depends on what kind of day you want: a long, cheap, communal soak, or a quiet 90 minutes in a robe with someone else handling the details.
This list covers both, plus the neighborhood day spas we'd book for a weeknight massage. If you want the deeper backstory on Korean bathhouse etiquette and luxury spa culture, our Houston spa guide goes further. This page is the shortlist.
The quick list
- For the full luxury spa day: Trellis Spa at The Houstonian.
- For the most polished hotel treatment: The Spa at The Post Oak Hotel.
- For a downtown couples' massage: The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Houston.
- For an all-day Korean soak, adults only: Gangnam Spa.
- For a Korean spa when the kids are coming: Spa World in Katy.
- For a treatment plus a pool day: Pure Spa Houston at Marriott Marquis.
- For an after-work massage: Hiatus Spa in Tanglewood, open until 9 most nights.
How we chose
We looked for spas that do one thing especially well: a facility worth lingering in, a treatment you can't easily get elsewhere, or a setting that turns a massage into an outing. Every spa below was confirmed open on its own official website in October 2026, with current hours or booking.
Prices and hours are taken from those official pages and change often, so treat them as "typically" and check before you book. We left out spas whose websites we couldn't verify.
Luxury hotel spas
Trellis Spa at The Houstonian
Uptown, 111 North Post Oak Lane · best for a full spa day
Trellis calls itself the largest luxury day spa in Texas, at 26,500 square feet, and it is built to keep you there. Outdoor warm and hot soaking pools, a sundeck with a fire pit, an indoor reflection pool, a steam room and hot tub inside each locker room, and a treetop dining room. Book a massage, facial or body treatment of 50 minutes or longer and the pools, sundeck and amenities come with it.
Insider tip: Trellis itself says weekdays are quiet and tranquil and weekends are sociable and lively. Pick your day accordingly. The spa is typically open daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Spa at The Post Oak Hotel
Uptown, 1600 West Loop South, fifth floor · best for a special-occasion facial
This 20,000-square-foot spa sits on the fifth floor of The Post Oak Hotel and leans into skin care. It says it is the only hotel spa in Texas with a "Biohacking" facial machine that combines seven non-invasive facial technologies. Before or after your treatment, settle into a zero-gravity chair in the co-ed relaxation lounge.
Good to know: online booking covers Monday through Thursday appointments; for weekends you call. The spa adds $10 per treatment on weekends and holidays, so a weekday visit saves you money as well as crowds.
The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Houston
Downtown · best for couples and a downtown spa day
The Four Seasons spa is small on purpose, with three treatment rooms and a dedicated couples' suite, and couples' retreats include the eucalyptus steam room. The spa day pass pairs a massage or ELEMIS facial with time at the rooftop pool.
What to order: the Southern Scrub & Sip. It's a bourbon and brown sugar body scrub scented with gingersnap and pecan, followed by an aloe milk bath, and it finishes with a pour of Garrison Brothers bourbon. Yes, the scrub ends with a drink.
The "I didn't know that": you can book the entire spa for yourself. The Private Spa experience is priced from $3,000 and includes a scrub, a massage, dishes from Toro Toro, champagne and a Four Seasons robe to take home.
Pure Spa Houston at Marriott Marquis
Downtown · best for a treatment plus a pool afternoon
Pure Spa is the day spa inside Marriott Marquis Houston, the hotel with the Texas-shaped lazy river. The useful detail: a treatment comes with complimentary access to the Altitude Rooftop and Pool afterward, so a facial turns into a pool afternoon with a skyline view. Pure Spa is typically open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, with slightly shorter weekend hours.
Mokara Spa at Omni Houston Hotel
Uptown, Four Riverway · best for a calmer Uptown option
Tucked inside Omni Houston Hotel, Mokara has eight treatment rooms, a relaxation lounge and a full hair and nail salon. It's a good pick when you want massage, a facial and a blowout in one booking. Hours are typically 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., later on Wednesdays, with an 8 a.m. start on Saturdays for early birds.
ZaSpa at Hotel ZaZa
Museum District and Memorial City · best for a group spa day
Both Hotel ZaZa locations have a ZaSpa with massages, facials, body wraps and couples' treatments, and both women's and men's spa areas have infrared saunas. The move here is a group booking: groups of six or more get exclusive access to the hotel pool, a fruit platter and mimosas or prosecco on arrival. That makes it an easy choice for a birthday or a bridal party.
Korean spas
Korean spas (jjimjilbang) run on a different model. You pay admission once, stay as long as you like, and move between hot and cold rooms, soaking pools and lounges, with scrubs and massages booked as extras. Bath areas are gender-separated and swimsuits aren't worn in the pools. Expect strict no-photo rules.
Gangnam Spa
West Houston, 4055 Highway 6 North · best for a long, adults-only soak
Gangnam Spa covers more than 30,000 square feet of baths, sauna rooms and lounges. Its signature is the bul-ga-ma, a traditional ultra-hot Korean sauna room, and Gangnam heats its bul-ga-ma rooms with wood fire rather than charcoal. Admission is all-day with no time limit and no reservations: typically $48 Monday to Thursday and $58 on weekends and holidays. Guests must be 18 or older.
What to order: the Korean traditional body scrub, from $70 for 30 minutes. Scrubs happen in the gender-separated wet areas, not private rooms. Women can also book a hip bath with an herbal steam blend that includes Korean mugwort.
Good to know: bring ID. No photos, no filming, and Meta smart glasses aren't allowed. On busy days, there can be a one-out, one-in waitlist.
Spa World
Katy, 929 Westgreen Blvd. · best for families and first-timers
Spa World is the Korean spa you can bring the family to. Kids 10 and under can't use the spa itself, but Kid's World, an on-site play area with staff supervising kids 6 and up, means a family can come together. Inside, you'll find a Fire Dome, a Gold Pyramid Room, a Himalayan salt room, a jade room and the Arctic Room, chilled to 40 to 45 degrees for cooling off between saunas. There's a Korean restaurant, a cafe, a bar, golf simulators and karaoke rooms too.
Admission is typically $45 Monday to Thursday and $55 Friday to Sunday, and the spa is typically open 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Body scrubs and massages are extra and for guests 18 and older.
Neighborhood day spas
Hiatus Spa, Tanglewood
Tanglewood, 5740 San Felipe St. · best for a weeknight massage
Hiatus has 14 treatment rooms, including a couples' suite and a hydrotherapy room, plus a nail lounge with zero-gravity chairs. The draw is the hours: typically 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, so you can book a massage after work.
milk + honey River Oaks
River Oaks, 2800 Kirby Drive · best for spa, nails and a facial in one stop
The Houston location of milk + honey sits in the Arrive River Oaks development, with a spa, med spa, salon and nails under one roof. Couples' massages happen in a shared treatment room, and the team builds small group mornings for birthdays and bridal parties. Register your plate with the garage QR code for up to two hours of free parking. Hours run late, typically 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Arrive 20 to 30 minutes early, as the spa itself suggests.
Save this: the Houston spa-day checklist
- Book Monday to Thursday. It's quieter at Trellis, cheaper at The Post Oak and cheaper at both Korean spas.
- Read the amenity rules. At Trellis, the pools come with treatments of 50 minutes or more. At Pure Spa, the rooftop pool comes with your treatment.
- Pack for the spa you picked. Hotel spas provide robes. Korean spas provide a uniform and require you to go unclothed in the bath pools. Bring ID to Gangnam.
- Book the scrub first. Spa World recommends body treatments before massages if you're doing both.
- Leave the phone. Spa World keeps phones out of locker rooms and bath areas, and Gangnam bans photography and filming.
- Plan dinner nearby. An Uptown spa day pairs with our Galleria and Uptown restaurant guide. A downtown one pairs with our downtown restaurant picks.
Two easy spa routes
- The Uptown splurge: a treatment at Trellis or The Post Oak, then an early dinner in Galleria/Uptown. Make it an overnight with our where to stay in Houston guide.
- The west-side soak: Gangnam Spa on Highway 6 or Spa World in Katy, all day, with lunch at Spa World's Korean restaurant if you pick Katy. Go on a weeknight for lower admission.
For a date, put a couples' massage at the Four Seasons or Hiatus first, then work from our romantic things to do in Houston and date night restaurants.
