I read almost all of the reviews for this place and was interested to see how my experience would go. Upon checking in there were about 4 staff standing at the front but only one woman acknowledged me. I didn’t get her name but she was very friendly and helped me promptly. The other staff didn’t greet me at all, much less look my way. She explained what restaurants were available and what times they opened. Our room had a king size bed and was spacious and clean. We had our own balcony and could see a little dock from there. The bed was too hard for my liking but if that’s my biggest complaint about the room I’d say it wasn’t too bad at all! When I went to check out another woman was at the counter. I think she was one of the staff who didn’t greet me or look my way when I arrived. Things weren’t different at all at check out. She didn’t acknowledge me or even look at me, so I just told her I need to check out while she was staring at her computer screen. She asked if I received a receipt under my door yet, I told her no. She said hang on let me check you out, okay I checked you out. And that was all, no good morning, how was your stay, anything we could’ve done better? Nothing. After that interaction alone I see why people say the staff is rude. That lady would probably do better in a position that is not involved in customer service. If she was anything like the woman who checked me in I wouldn’t have any complaints.

I’ve had the opportunity to execute countless corporate events for American National at South Shore Harbour Resort, and I can confidently say the experience has been exceptional every single time. From planning through execution, the staff consistently delivers flawless hospitality and outstanding attentiveness. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and willingness to anticipate needs make every event feel seamless and stress-free. No matter the size or scope of the event, the team operates with precision, warmth, and a true commitment to service excellence. The venue itself is beautiful and well-maintained, but what truly sets South Shore Harbour apart is the staff. They go above and beyond to ensure both planners and guests feel supported, welcomed, and cared for throughout the entire event. I’m always confident bringing high-level clients here because I know the experience will be nothing short of excellent. Highly recommend for corporate events, conferences, and any occasion where quality service truly matters.

Great customer service upon arriving. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Hotel was nicely decorated for Christmas and even though you could tell from the outside it was dated-the inside looked great. Great view-great location. Great amenities. Room was very clean and nicely decorated. Looked just as advertised. Pillows were not the best and the beds were not as comfy as I would have liked-they definitely could use upgrades. Lighting was great and ac was COLD! Which was great. Overall great stay.

I am an avid traveler, and this was the worst lodging experience I have encountered. First, it took 15-20 minutes to check us in because their computers were not working properly and no one was available to troubleshoot. Then, when we finally got to our rooms, the heater was broken. This was already 10:40 PM at night. The front desk called the technician and the technician said he/she will not be coming. Instead, the technician told the front staff personnel to go from room to room to find one with a working heater. The front desk staff walked into our room and immediately exclaimed that our room felt like an ice box. We walked around from empty room to empty room until we found one that seemed to have a working heater. By the time we were in our new room, it was 12:30 AM. By the time we were settled, it was incredibly late. The next morning, we all woke up tired because we didn’t get enough sleep but still had to wake up to catch our reservations and plans. When I went to speak with someone at the front desk, there were no apologies or even sympathy. She said that our original room’s heater is working now, and insisted that we had to move out of our temporary room by 11 AM if we wanted our original room back. I thought this was unreasonable since the hotel’s faulty heater was the reason we had to move in the first place. Ironically, the computer stopped working again so she could not process the transfer back to our original room, which meant we could take our time to move out of the replacement room. That same evening, my sister and brother in law checked into the adjoining room. To our dismay, it smelled strongly of marijuana. We aired it out for some time and the smell went away. But we didn’t bother saying anything because at this point, I didn’t trust that they’d make anything better. Basically, I think it is okay if something breaks or smells unpleasant. The issue is I felt like the hotel protocol for handling these things are not client-centered. So now I would not trust to ever have a peaceful stay at this establishment. At the end, I got Expedia involved. Management was reluctant to refund me the whole night, but somehow Expedia talked them into it.
