We have stayed here multiple times in the premium suites with the balconies. They are mostly nice. I love sitting out on the balcony. Plus there is a small convenience store underneath, restaurants all around and a cvs across the street. I only have 3 complaints: 1. the showers are super slippery and smell moldy, and 2. the carpets need to be steam cleaned because they make your feet black, and 3. it's supposed to be a disability room yet the bathroom is incredibly tiny. A disabled person in a wheelchair would not be able to get into the bathroom and shower. They just need to improve those things. Other than that I like the place. They give plenty of conveniences to make your stay easier. I would stay here again.

We were temporarily displaced from our home due to water damage in the fall. While repairs were underway at our house, my husband, 2 kids, 2 dogs, and I spent 5 weeks at the Home2 Suites. It was quite the adventure! Despite the unfortunate circumstances, we had a very positive experience at the hotel, overall. Shout out to Carlos and Byron (front desk staff), Daniel (awesome server/bartender), and Jack (engineer)! They were all very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel! Pros: Clean, spacious, extended stay suite Friendly staff Daily cleaning service (we opted for every other day) Great restaurant/bar with delicious food and drinks, including the complimentary breakfast Nice gym Free laundry facilities Dog friendly with a spacious turf area for quick potty stops Very close to Hermann Park and the Rice University loop, which allowed for scenic dog walks and runs Cons: We had some maintenance issues in our room that dragged out for a few days, but were ultimately resolved (and were caused by our upstairs neighbors installing a portable showerhead, which they were not allowed to do). The elevators! This is the main reason I docked a star. The hotel has 3 elevators. For the 5 weeks we were there, I would say two elevators worked about 40% of the time, which was fine. However, about 60% of the time, only 1 elevator was working, which caused long lines, a perpetually crowded elevator, and grumpy residents (myself included). They were constantly being serviced. If the elevators were more reliable, I'd have given them a 5 star review. :)

It's well located but expect plenty of freeway and road noise. Even on the 8th floor it was still loud especially on the weekend. The AC is nice and freezing and the water is hot with great pressure. The fridge and freezer are apartment sized. There's a dishwasher and microwave. Housekeeping comes every other day and I did have to ask the front desk for more coffee pods as there were only two...that's one morning for me. Some of the rooms have upgraded Keurigs but I didn't get one of those. The scent the hotel uses is overpowering and to me absolutely reeks of some kind of cheap body spray. I'd say that was the least favorable thing about my stay. The cleaning products, likewise. The lobby is on the first floor. The parking garages are the 2nd and 3rd. Guest rooms on 4th-8th. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The bartender is especially charming. There is a food mart right next to the hotel and plenty of dining options across the street--Mod Pizza, Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet, SmashBurger, Chipotle.

Because of its location, we've stayed here close to a dozen times. Our most recent stay will be our last. When we walked into the room, it smelled like too much cleaning solution. We were exhausted so we didn't say anything. But as we settled in and got ready for bed, the smell became worse. It was clearly a "wet dog" odor exacerbated by too much cover-up spray. We hoped to sleep through it. We both struggled through a terrible night. What really made it bad was when we talked to the manager about this the next morning. Her attitude was that it was our fault for not having complained sooner. She kept talking about their shampooing and cleaning process. She never showed any accountability. If there was an apology, it was of the "I'm sorry this happened" nature. Nothing about the customer being right. She made a big show of letting us pick our next room. We just wanted one that didn't smell! When we went back to the dirty room to get our things, I asked her to come in and see if she smelled anything. She refused. She talked about possibly refunding us for the night. I told her that was not why we were complaining. I also told her we'd be cutting our trip short by a night. Apparently that prompted her to withdraw the refund idea because it didn't happen. To be clear -- things happen. We got a bad room and we should've complained sooner. But what ended this relationship was the manager's arrogance and dismissiveness. Given the opportunity to show empathy and understanding - particularly for someone whose been a loyal customer of this location and the entire Hilton chain - she could not have cared less. Give your money to place where they value your business. That's what we'll be doing in the future.

So much is great with this place. But the beds are awful..Had to check out early because driving overnight was more comfortable than the bed. But service was very good. Breakfast was great, and location is nice. While I wish they wouldn't charge for parking since no free spots are availableon property, it's at least more reasonable at 15 a night.
