Hallways and rooms smell musty. In the room, the ceiling appears to be textured-concrete. That's not something I want to see. I feel like I'm in a parking garage or an institution. By reading other reviews they've had issues with vehicles inside the "locked" gates (which you pay extra for) getting broken into. Don't keep valuables in your vehicle just in case. While the room is clean, amenities are lacking. Mattress is decent. TV is old and not smart. Bathroom was probably remodeled and looks okay. Desk in the room is nice. Did not visit gym or pool area. Staff are nice and attentive. Breakfast was good and had a good bit of options. I hear the shuttle service is convenient, but won't be taking advantage. While this is not trying to advertise as a luxury hotel, it's not trying to overachieve as a low-end option either. In the end, not a good value for the money.

Location was great, loved the room; however, when I came back from a long day of working (12 hours) I found my door open. The dead bolt was left out so it would be easier for housekeeping to get in and out, and they never closed my door. I told the front desk & sent a message via the app. All they said is we will investigate. Luckily nothing was stolen.

This hotel is located super close to MD Anderson medical complex. They treat us amazing at this hotel! They have a shuttle with Chris and Brenda who are always driving from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. they are tireless and dedicated! We love them! This hotel has made us feel so special at a time when we needed help the most. The parking is gated and very safe. Also directly next door to the luby's cafeteria which also is excellent and so fast! Close to lots of other restaurants Target etc. The rooms are neat and clean with a mini fridge and a microwave. Great pool when it is in season.

We literally picked this hotel because it said it offered free shuttle to NRG Stadium. We asked for a shuttle at 6:30pm for the 8:15pm kickoff for the Texas Bowl UH vs LSU. We were told the shuttles were no longer running for the night. What's the point then? The game didn't start for 2 hours and shuttle service already ended. At least post the times on your website so we know it wasn't worth it. But no running shuttle times were posted. We were trying to save money on Ubers and this defeated the point. Also, the "gated parking" is non-existent. Yes, there is a gate. But it was never shut the whole time we were there. So you think your cars are safer and more protected and they aren't. Plus you have to pay for it. Pointless. This hotel didn't meet normal Hilton expectations. More run down and not as clean. Not sure where the 4 star rating is coming from. I wouldn't brag on how nice or clean this location looked.

Under new ownership was the consistent reply when business practices were not at Corporate Hampton standards. We were here for cancer treatment so we were under the Medical rate which meant we had to deal with corporate for reservations and to extend our stay an extra night. Usually hotels manage this for us with no complaints. We typically (and thats how we've done lodging for the past two years) reserve our stay using the only credit card we use online and then pay with a debit card upon checkout. We always request to do this at all hotels we choose to stay in. Hampton Inn's have always been a no deposit company. Sure they take a credit card number in case we flake out and don't show. They have never actually charged the card before we even arrive(This Hampton on Old Spanish Trail Houston, charged the wrong card at 1pm...check in time was at 4pm). When we arrived for check-in they argued with my husband citing "new ownership" policies. Again stating they charge for stay the day of check in because they are busy will and will also charge everyday we stay...not at check-out. Husband asked for a receipt since they proceeded to charge for the next night and we had barely checked in for the first night. Also said they have to post $50 fee for incidentals. Woman at desk said she had been in hospitality business for 30 years and this is the way it's done and we could leave if we didn't like it. Also they could not give a receipt for these charges until we actually checked out. Corporate was very polite and apologized for clerks rudeness. She called front desk and spoke to one of the clerks and told her it was supposed to be a hold only.we understand that. That is completely understandable So clerks used wrong descriptors with us and told corporate that's what they told us. Husband went to talk to clerks again and to even apologize for his impatience with them( Cancer trys even the most patient of souls)and again they were adamant that they had charged the card. As the stay progressed and husband found out from Drs we would need to stay an extra night. This was ok'd by someone at the front desk she said "that will be fine". While we were out at another MDAnderson appt and also looking for apartments, Cyan called wanting out credit card info for the extra night. We told her we would be back before 2. She said that would be fine "no problem". When we arrived back at 1:30, our keys would not work. Cyan explained they had assumed we checked out...yes she is the same one who said "no problem". She said because we were on Medical (almost said as if we were Charity cases)and we had to have booked with cooperate. Even though she acknowledged our stay over the phone two hours previous. (Deep breath in and --sigh). Again, even though we were told room could be held with AmEx and paid with Debit at check-out, they charged the AmEx anyway. I do not know where the breakdown was in customer service and communication. Husband was directed to speak to Nick not sure of his title but supposedly he was a boss. This gentleman saw no problem in charging the credit card even though his staff was instructed to... and had agreed to charge the debit. God bless these people who have chosen the hospitality industry as a career. Key word is hospitality. As for the property, it is older. The grounds crew keep it clean and housekeeping staff were helpful and pleasant. The shuttle drivers were great and punctual. My favorite employee was the sweet lady that ran the breakfast buffet. I have low vision issues and she was kind enough to point out things to make my breakfast accessible. Some of the tables had charging stations both with electrical outlets and USB ports. Gated parking. Luby's and a Subway sandwich shop with in walking distance. Stay at your own risk. We will never stay at this location again. The Hyatt Place and Hyatt house is a a block away and much nicer and worth the extra bucks.
