I am currently on the market to finding a new home here in Houston. I recently had the pleasure of touring this property with Rebeca. She was very helpful and insightful! She took the time to answer all of my questions and concerns, as well as making the tour feel comfortable and informative. I appreciated her friendly attitude! This truly made me consider renting a unit here.

A “luxury” apartment should be built with walls that do not lead to hearing your neighbors’ alarm or their Duolingo streak. The builders and the owners who chose to use luxury as another word to overcharge and under deliver on a living space. The complex halls are stained with trash and smells of it—especially on warmer days, but that would hurt RPM’s margins to fix or is seen as a nonissue I guess (a fellow in another RPM owned complex in town complains of the same thing). At least one stairwell needs cleaning as there’s dried feces on the cement that’s now at least three months old (it’s also a reflection of lack of community valuing the shared space creating a need for a deep clean it’s a stairwell not your dog’s pet “park” which is an amenity here so heads up on that). There’s also no communication or clear back up on what to do to get into the building if the power goes out (extra concerning if you have a pet or live alone). Bluetooth is “great” but every place I’ve lived prior with digital locks also provided an emergency analog key. On the other end, the maintenance team is phenomenal. They’re clearly a lean group of people but do excellent work with what they have. My interactions with the leasing office have been limited but positive. They are solutions driven and fast when communicated to; ex the middle treadmill in the gym was broken the entire since I moved in, and when the other two went down, I let them know since that’s nearly half the electronic gym equipment and all were fixed within a week. I haven’t been yet but community events are newer to living here and even if I haven’t been to one yet that is a net positive especially for those who may want that in their living space. So TLDR: immediate management is trying and maintenance works hard but you’ll have a gamble on your neighbor’s impacts to your time here due to building quality as well as lack of care in hallways and stairwell(s), and if you forget your phone at odd hours or power goes out you’re SOL getting into the building to get to your rental unit.

I just want to shout out the maintenance guys at this property. They always get the job done in a timely fashion. And the service manager is very knowledgeable and you can tell he really cares about our property. Thank you, Mr. Branden, for all your hard work! It certainly shows.

Toured with the manager, Ty a few weeks ago. We leased elsewhere but his professionalism and tour was great. He even followed up with us a few times, sorry for the late review. Community is great and location is prime in Midtown. Units are nice as well. We decided to move to Rosenberg but, I highly recommend this place. Go ask for Ty or the young lady at the front desk. She was very sweet as well.

I can’t say enough great things about The Ashton on West Dallas leadership team! They have truly transformed our community experience with a variety of engaging activities that bring residents together and make it easy to get to know our neighbors. The team is always professional, responsive, and genuinely attentive to residents’ needs — addressing any matters quickly and with care. Their dedication, along with RPM’s continued support, has made The Ashton on West Dallas the best place to live in Midtown. It’s refreshing to live somewhere that not only feels like home but also feels like a community. Highly recommend!
