X10 Archery Academy

Such a great archery class—my two friends and I did the Try Archery Plus two-hour lesson. Our instructor, Russ, was encouraging, clear, and thoughtful, with a great sense of humor. The vibes were honestly great with the whole team/staff there. Russ reminded me of Professor Slughorn from Harry Potter and was constantly cracking jokes, which kept the class light and fun. Russ really takes the time to teach you well in 2 hours. He breaks everything down step by step, and between each step you immediately get to try something new—whether it’s a pose, a technique, or a round of arrows. It’s hands-on learning in small, manageable doses, which makes a big difference since there’s A LOT to remember in archery I found. But by the end of the two hours, everything had really sunk in and felt smooth sailing which is a testament to the teaching. I started out feeling a little tentative and unsure, and by the end I felt confident and relaxed—all his tips made a difference and did pretty well. If I lived in Houston, I’d absolutely get a membership!

I had such a great experience here, and a huge part of that was because of our coach, Russell. From the moment we started, he made the whole session fun, welcoming, and easy to follow. As complete beginners, we were a little nervous at first, but Russell walked us through everything step by step in a way that was clear and simple. What I really appreciated was how he mixed instruction with humor he kept us laughing the whole time so it never felt boring or intimidating. Russell is incredibly knowledgeable and you can tell he really knows what he’s talking about. At the same time, he was very patient with us as newbies and made sure everyone felt comfortable before moving on to the next step. He took the time to correct our form, give helpful tips, and celebrate the small wins, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. His positive attitude and encouraging coaching style made such a difference. Instead of feeling like we were struggling to learn something new, it felt like we were just having fun while naturally getting better. By the end of the session, I was actually surprised at how much we had improved. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and Russell truly made it memorable. Because of him, I’m seriously considering getting a membership and coming back regularly. If you’re new to archery or even if you’ve done it before, having a coach like Russell makes all the difference. Highly recommend! 🎯

Took my best friend here for his birthday and it was a such a wonderful experience. Surpassed my expectations. I signed up for the archery plus class and had Coach Russ. He was a spectacular coach, taught well, very engaging and hilarious! I did the class for my friend mostly but never thought I’d enjoy archery as much as I did! Seems like a great community all around

I didn't really care about archery. I just got a bow so I could go out and hunt white tail a month early. I came to this facility to get a clarifier, sight in my bow, and fix my peep rotation. Some girl named cat or Kat helped me. She was absolutely amazing and gave my bow a great tune. She literally spent like 3 hours working on my stuff, letting me shoot it, coaching me, and sharing all sorts of experience and knowledge She has. I've been to other bow shops; they don't have what x10 has in her. Their products are sold at the best price and I swear it's worth a visit just to experience a symphony of competence, patience, and undue friendliness that truly goes above and beyond.

Russ is the man! He took us through safety instructions, fit each of us individually for equipment, and gave coaching points along the way — accommodating all skill levels in bite-sized chunks to keep things fun while trying to improve. He’s so passionate about what he does and you can tell he loves his job. Parking is a little tricky, but is free and on-site. Thank you!
