Great walking Par 3 18 hole course. The greens aren’t the best and around the hole could use some work but this is truly a gem in Houston. I go here to work on my short game. I love it here because they are very relaxed, unlike EVERY other golf course. No collar shirt needed, just come and have a good time. You can also rent a push cart for around $4. You can usually find a deal to play for around $9. With the price, the atmosphere, and the perfect practice situations you can find yourself in that is a great deal for this special gem of a course.

I can count on one hand the number of public golf courses in our tri-county area with an actual grass driving range and not mats. This is a diamond in the rough. Whether you're a low handicapper and need to practice your short game or brand new to golf and looking for a no-pressure environment to learn, this little jewel has is it.

this place was absolutely a blast!!As a golfer who plays private country clubs I absolutely loved this lil slice of heaven. all you need is a P S and a putter and maybe a 8 iron. the course was easy to navigate amd well planned out i loved the shade trees and benches to rest trash cans. the oak trees were my fav. Definitely will be returning many time is the staff was absolutely amazing also very friendly and welcoming.a awesome spot to bring your friends and family.

Great super inexpensive place to work on your game. Full 18 par 3 course. Fairways are always pretty decent but some greens are better/worse than others. Last time we went (Sept 2024), the conditions had really improved. Very laid-back staff/owner. Obviously set your expectations right, but a great course to play for super cheap $.

Tony does an amazing job keeping this place going. After the unfortunate fire that destroyed the clubhouse, he’s been putting in nonstop work to make sure the course is still enjoyable and playable for everyone. This is by far the best place in Houston to learn the game, bring your family, or hang out with friends and enjoy a stress-free, judgment-free round of golf. The green fees are unbelievably affordable — one payment gives you access to the course all day. That’s crazy! The driving range is great for practicing your long game, and there’s always space available. Everyone who plays Melrose knows the atmosphere is friendly, down-to-earth, and welcoming. You’ll get exactly what you pay for — an honest, relaxed day of golf without the pretentious vibe you find elsewhere. If you’re showing up dressed to the nines expecting country-club perfection for $12, you might want to check your expectations. But if you’re looking for a fun, affordable, and community-centered place to play, you’ll love it here. You can bring your dog, your kids, your own food and drinks — even your own golf cart if you want! No shame in wanting to roll around the course, especially if you plan to stay all day. Melrose is a little Houston gem, and Tony deserves huge credit for keeping it alive and thriving mostly on his own. Since the fire, they’ve been working hard on getting a new clubhouse up and running, and it’s coming along beautifully.
