I booked the Buffalo Bayou Kayak Tours evening bat tour while visiting Houston, and it was such a fun and memorable experience. I wanted to do something different with my sister, and this was a great way to spend time together while seeing Houston from a unique perspective. Ian was our guide and he was excellent, helpful, knowledgeable, and made the tour feel organized and safe. We chose a tandem kayak, which I would recommend if you want to share the work, especially since the first part of the tour goes upstream and there were some stronger currents under the bridges. It was definitely a workout, but very doable if you are in decent health. The highlight was watching thousands of bats fly out from under the Waugh Drive Bridge from the water. It was such a cool experience, and seeing it from a kayak made it feel even more special. The paddle back in the dark was peaceful and much easier with the current. For about $60 per person plus tax, I thought this was a great value for a three-hour guided tour with all equipment included. Whether you live in Houston or are just visiting, I highly recommend Buffalo Bayou Kayak Tours, especially the evening bat tour.

My friend and I had the most exciting experience by signing up for a Bat Tour with Buffalo Bayou Kayak Tours. Ian was our guide. He answered all our questions prior to and during the tour. We Kayaked for 3 hours first under the sunset for 2.5 miles going against the current to the Bat Bridge and see 350K of them take flight at 8 pm then another 2.5 miles back but this time an easier ride enjoying views of the Houston skyline. We encountered a nutria, one lonely bat on one of the pillars, a large turtle on the bayou banks and various types of herons flying that evening. I had been wanting to to this trip for a long time and was so happy to find this tour company facilitating this experience. I will definitely be coming back !

Came into town for a few days and signed up for the skyline kayak tour. Due to the strong current on the Buffalo Bayou, Ian called an audible and we paddled the Whiteoak Bayou instead. It did not disappoint!! Relaxing, yet a workout at the same time and I even got splashed by a very large fish. Ian was easy to paddle with, clear with instructions, knowledgeable about the area and a pleasure to talk to. It was a great way to see some of Houston.

We had a great time. We have been to Houston so many times but never knew the bayou even existed. We did the night bat tour, Josh and Dillon were great tour guides. We loved all the nuggets of history Josh shared along the way. I would definitely recommend it!

Went Kayaking here on a Friday afternoon. Sebastian was very helpful! Water is pretty dirty, but some cool Houston views and occasional wildlife.
