They’re encouraging without being intimidating, which makes a huge difference, especially for beginners. They’re organized, friendly, and always willing to help with questions, scheduling, or anything else you might need. Everything runs smoothly, and it’s obvious how much effort goes into keeping the gym welcoming and well-managed. Bam Bam has been such an amazing experience for my son. The martial arts training is high quality, but what really stands out about the academy is the character and dedication of the instructors. They all knew my son’s name and greeted me as his mom almost immediately after his first class even though his classes was very full of students. Their exemplary example of dignity, strength, and respect with how they carry themselves and how they teach the students has made a profound impact on my son. He is more confident both in his physical strength and mental problem-solving and always feels good about himself after his classes there. I highly recommend Bam Bam and could not be happier to be a part of their academy.

Our son has been attending Bam Bam Martial Arts in Houston for about 9 months now, and we couldn’t be happier. The quality of jiu-jitsu instruction is excellent, with a strong focus on discipline, confidence, and real skill development. What truly sets Bam Bam apart is the leadership training provided by the head instructor, Scott Sullivan, to select students. This aspect is incredibly valuable to us, as we see martial arts not just as a sport, but as a foundation for building a strong, capable, and responsible future man and leader. Our long-term goal is for our son to earn his black belt in 7–8 years, and Bam Bam gives us confidence that this journey will develop both character and resilience along the way. We carefully document this growth as part of his broader personal and academic development, and Bam Bam plays a key role in that story. Arman, my son, started at Bam Bam in October of 2025 due to the start of bullying at school, and has since been guided through self-defense techniques and discipline techniques that have made a huge improvement not only in his social health but in his confidence. Better than that, he’s more respectful due to the meticulous curriculum and program to improve manners and self-discipline; he also manages his temper better — what a gift!!! He simply gets things done in a way he did not just 8 months ago. I am forever grateful for the scholarship that Bam Bam has provided for the Black Belt Club he is in. This is a family-operated business with heart, authenticity, and philosophical alignment that WORKS on multiple fronts.

We love Bam Bam. Jiu-jitsu is probably at the end of the list of the great things they offer, behind personal growth and community. They teach kids leadership and how to grow as a person through seminars. They celebrate every kids' achievement. My wife and I learned jiu-jitsu for a year, my 2 older kids have learned for almost 2 years, and hopefully my youngest will start in a couple of years. The experience has been rewarding for all of us.
