Not a zoo The human visits here are designed to support this habitat. If you like to encounter tons of "wild" animals go to a zoo, it won't happen here. What this place offers are several walking trails with tranqulity and stillness. Watch the water drift in the bayou can be superbly calming. You do get to witness a couple bisons doing their thing at a distance. They are only there because they are fenced in. Overall a great experience and great way to support nature.

Honestly, this place is such a hidden gem. It’s crazy that it’s right here in the city because you feel like you're miles away. The trails are well-maintained and super easy to walk. We saw some alligators and lots of birds. Great spot to just clear your head and get some fresh air. Definitely coming back.

We have been visiting Armand Bayou Nature Center for years, and it truly feels like a special place to our family. My child has practically grown up here. He has been part of Ecotots, Ecokids, summer camps, and so many of the programs they offer. The center is very well maintained and you can really see the care that goes into it. Over the years the facilities have been upgraded, but the trails have stayed wonderfully nature centric. Everything still feels wild and peaceful in the best way. The wildlife is as active as ever. We have seen crawfish, anoles, gators, turtles, deer, and plenty of other critters on our walks. It is one of those places that keeps its charm no matter how many times you visit, and it has been such a big part of our family’s connection to nature.

great place to walk to see and enjoy nature. got to know about history and saw a deer or two, including a rabbit and some bison. they take payments in person or you can purchase online. tickets per person is $7. they also have a boat deck to get a view of the lake.

I used to volunteer here about twenty years ago. It was nice to visit again. It’s a great place to spend some time outdoors and maybe see some wildlife.
