Pro Shop: SUPER helpful when buying a gun. James was incredible and very knowledgeable with helping select the right shotgun. Let me demo a gun, and hooked me up with an instructor. The whole experience was 10 out of 10. Sporting clays: Very walkable course. Sometimes when it’s wet, some of the machines don’t turn on. Very busy at the start of Dove season.

My favorite Houston area range. Everyone is always nice, and the rules are straight forward. The set up is great. Been coming here for 16 years. Looks like I need more practice!

This place is great and has pistol pop up 22 and 100-600 yard ranges. They also have a military discount which saves me money. There is a per gun charge after 1 gun you will probably spend 2-4 hours here and you have to qualify on the 300 yard ranges to shoot further but it’s absolutely amazing as far as a range is concerned.

I’ve been shooting at ranges for many years, and I can honestly say this is one of the best ranges I’ve ever been to—period. The facility was spotless, extremely well organized, and safety was clearly the top priority without ever feeling overbearing. Every single person I interacted with was professional, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The gentleman in the pro shop who checked me in took the time to thoroughly explain the rules and procedures, which immediately set the tone for how well this range is run. The range master was attentive and professional, and even the long-time member shooting next to me was friendly and helpful—something you don’t see everywhere. I was there Friday, 12/12/25 around 10 a.m. and didn’t catch the name of the employee at the register, but he was a slender guy with a beard and made an outstanding first impression. I also loved the automated cease-fire and open-fire announcements—clear, loud, and impossible to miss, which reinforces safety every single time. This range is everything you want: clean, safe, professional, and welcoming. It was more than worth the trip, and after this visit I’m seriously considering a family membership so we can shoot here regularly. Highly recommended.

If I could post a zero star review, I would. Let me explain..... I’ve been coming to American Shooting Centers for clays and range time for 25+ years, and until last Friday (12/11/25) around 11:30 a.m., it was a place I regularly recommended. We visited as a family across three generations: a grandfather (Navy veteran and lifelong East Texas hunter), his two sons, and his grandson who was learning to shoot his deer rifle. For roughly the first 1 hour and 45 minutes, everything was fine—one range officer on duty was professional, helpful, and encouraging. As we were wrapping up to head to the pistol range, a different range officer took over and the tone changed abruptly. He repeatedly reprimanded the Navy veteran in a confrontational, in-your-face manner over muzzle angle while the rifle was being carried away from the bench to be cased/put away. From my perspective, the muzzle was angled upward (not level or toward others), but not perfectly vertical. Even if the officer believed it needed correction, the delivery was unnecessarily aggressive. A few minutes later, as we were packing to leave, the officer escalated again and told the veteran he could not walk to his car with his gear until the “line was hot again,” because the range was in ceasefire. When I reviewed ASC’s posted rules afterward, I could not find anything stating that access to/from the shooting area is restricted during ceasefire in that way. Bottom line: the safety expectations may be valid, but the way they were enforced—especially toward an older customer and veteran—was disrespectful and ruined the experience. Our family won’t be returning, and I can’t recommend the range based on this incident.
