I had my Breast Cancer (Tumor) taken care of (removed) here with Dr. Pfost. I have nothing but positive things to say. I am very sadden to see all the negatives reviews about this location, but thankful I did have a very positive experience at Texas Oncology-Med Center. My surgeon, Dr Pfost was great, same my oncologist Dr. Durkal. Wonderful caring respectful people, they made my journey so much easier and hopeful. Dr. Pfost is so good at everything, and Dr. Durkal follows the same, THE BEST. Dr. Pfost nurse Gloria was beyond helpful and right on time, every time, calling me, reminding me, checking for me, and always trying to help me. She would answer my calls or text with no delay and always assuring me in every step. Thank you Gloria for all you did and still do for those walking the scary path of Cancer. God Bless you!! The radiation team was beyond perfect. I loved how well they handled everything with me. Courtesy, kindness, gentleness and patience were present every single day I had Radiation treatment. I cant say enough about them. Love them for all the strength they gave me while I was weak, full of fears, and broken. God led me to these people, no doubt. The chemotherapy team was fantastic at every level. Very courteous and present at every need. Jill handled everything so well and always ready with a smile and willingness to help. Love them, almost hate not seeing them anymore. I could go on about this group of people, the good its endless. Per my experience, if you are in need of chemo, an oncologist, or radiation treatment, this place is it. Thank you Dr. Durkal, Dr. Pfost, Jill in chemotherapy department, escape me the names of the sweet group in the radiation station. You guys are the happy of those in stressful and sad moments. Keep it up!!!

Their sense of urgency is nonexistent. My mother had a CT scan in February of this year which showed some cause for concern. We were reassured and given a date for a PET scan in JULY. We then called for a sooner appointment which was updated to mid June. Fast forward to late June we go in to discuss pet scan and it turns out her lymphoma may be back so the doctor refers us for an endoscopy and gave us a follow up visit for JULY 23rd - more than a MONTH later. I had a feeling this shouldn’t take that long so thankfully I reached out to MD Anderson and within the last 4 days she has gotten labs, a bone marrow biopsy AND the endoscopy. We expect to hear back on Monday. You cannot play with time ESPECIALLY when it comes to cancer. My mom is looking sicker and I can’t help but feel this should’ve been treated sooner. I feel naive for placing something like my mom’s health in the hands of a facility that doesn’t seem to have the capacity for all the patients. I would’ve respected them more if they simply told me “we don’t have any appointments soon so we recommend looking elsewhere that can treat you faster”. Her doctor was kind and we do appreciate him however the system they have is not great. Please do better.

My mom is a patient of Dr. Escudier here and she is amazing. She has treated my mom thru breast cancer twice now and goes above and beyond with her care. Nick and Jill are always there for us and get back to us quickly no matter what is going on. They are all so caring and have become like family. All of the staff is very caring and go above and beyond to help. No matter which doctor my mom has seen here the care has been amazing. The phone system has gotten much better than it was. It's much easier to talk to someone.

The entire process is stressful. They put through all these people and are not willing to accept insurance plans that state they are willing to contract and pay 100%. It was like they didn’t want to accept me as a patient in a discriminatory way if you don’t have Blue Cross Blue Shield or CVS Caremark (major insurance plans). They are slow to even gather this information and provide you with answers, completely wasting my time all while sick.
