I was referred by my OB and I made a mistake on not reading reviews before coming here. If you like playing phone tag with your provider, this is the place to go. I cannot comment much on Dr Amaratunge since I only saw her once. I had a 11 o'clock appointment but was not able to see the doctor until 1 - 1.5 hour later. She ordered lab that was not covered by my insurance ( I had to call the lab myself to find out) and called the clinic to have it changed. It is also impossible to reach the doc's RN, always have to leave a vm. I am not always able to answer phone calls immediately. Therefore, start of phone tag. Later, MD wanted procedures done. I call RN about what are we trying to find or not find. Phone tag again. Finally able to speak to RN, she said to make an appointment with MD. Another 2 hours of my life and copay, no thanks. I tried to cancel the procedure 8 days before. Again, only VM and no call back. 5 days before, they called to collect copays and I told them I wanted to cancel. They said they were going to let the responsible person know. The next day, the hospital called to collect facility charges and I said I am cancelling. I called TDDC again and left VM. Finally someone calls me the next day and leaves a VM saying need verbal confirmation. I call back and left a VM as I can never seem to reach a real person. I am sure their time is very valuable but I am not sitting around doing nothing. They also ordered plenvu for the colonoscopy, which was not covered by my insurance. It would have been another phone tag to get it changed if I decided to do it. Not sure why they keep ordering fancy stuff that is not covered by my insurance.

I don’t want to discredit anyone’s experience, but my visit today was five stars across the board. Check in was smooth, appointment was on time, Dr. Amaratunge spent considerable time face to face. Definitely much better than going to the big systems like Kelsey where you only have a doctor’s attention for five minutes.

The doctor is great, but unfortunately, the scheduling and office staff seem to be a bit disorganized. I recently called about a mistake on their part regarding a colonoscopy schedule, where they had booked my mother for the wrong date. Additionally, when it came to the medication, they also hadn’t filed the order when we ask to change it. I called to fix the issue and was connected with someone, then put on hold. After 20-30 minutes, my call was dropped. I tried again, but experienced the same thing. Also the person I need to reach was out of office and the next alternative was also..out of the office. So I don’t know who to call to fix this issue and this was my only free time. I’ve seen many medical specialists for my mother, and I have to say this office is the most disorganized I’ve encountered. I really hope they can improve the process moving forward.

I recently had an office visit here with Dr. Dang Nguyen. Dr. Nguyen took my symptoms and concerns seriously and answered all of my questions. He was very thorough and I never felt that he was trying to rush me through the appointment, which is something I've experienced with other docs. Furthermore, I found his assistant and all of the office staff to be friendly, helpful, and competent, both in person and over the phone when I called with questions. I had a good experience here and would recommend this GI practice.

The Dr and staff were very good however the business office is a different story. I was told 3 different things by 3 different people. I was told by my insurance and by tddc that I was to be issued a refund. It never came and after several phone calls they sent me a nominal refund. I was told that the rest would be put back on my credit card and it was not. Then all of a sudden there were pathology fees from months earlier that showed up on my account. Very shady business!!!!!!!
