Dr. Bortuzzo is wonderful. After years of mis- diagnosis, she " thought outside the box" and identified correctly my issue. I am so very grateful for her great care and brilliant mind.

I’ve been a patient at this office for a while, and I have to say that my experience with the staff has been incredibly frustrating. Despite being a regular patient, I often find myself having to call multiple times before receiving a response. Emails and calls are rarely returned in a timely manner, if at all. I’ve been promised call-backs that never happen, which causes unnecessary delays in my care. This ongoing issue has resulted in delays with medication approvals, and it's been a serious problem for me. I take Stelara, and when there are long gaps between doses, I have to start the entire process over again with an initial infusion. Missing my medication for months at a time is not only frustrating, it’s impacting my health. While Dr. Krill is an excellent doctor and truly cares about his patients, I cannot say the same for the office’s medical staff. The office seems to be overstaffed with patients, leading to a lack of personalized care and attention. The process feels impersonal, and I can’t help but feel like the quality of care is slipping due to these issues. I hope this review is taken as constructive feedback, as it is not a reflection on Dr. Krill himself, who is an excellent healthcare provider, but rather the medical staff and overall office operations. The staff issues need to be addressed for patients to receive the level of care they deserve. It’s disappointing to see such a great doctor being let down by the systems in place.

FIND ANOTHER OFFICE!!! Save yourself the time and trouble of coming here. My visit was with Dr. Krill on May 2 and I still haven't gotten my prescription due to the negligence of Wendy, his medical assistant. She didn't send in the pre-approval form for the medication (which they knew requires extra documentation) until after I called the insurance company to have them fax it to their office. It's been over a week since the insurance denied the claim and I haven't heard back from DHA's office regarding next steps. Every time I try to reach them, an operator answers the phone, puts me on hold while they "try to reach the medical assistant". They come back on the line just to put you on hold again only to tell you that they're not available and will call you back. It's been 3 business days and I haven't heard from anyone. I wish I read the reviews here first because I booked based on Dr. Krill's rating. I never would've have gone here in the first place knowing that their office is understaffed or incompetent. There's no point of going to a good doctor if the office is run poorly, affecting your care/treatment.

I brought in my mother to see Dr. Krill and had the most amazing experience! I want to start off by saying his Medical Assistant Crystal is the BEST she was very nice and polite, she makes sure to always return my moms calls back and makes sure she has all the information needed before getting off the phone, she has never rushed through any phone call and always remains soft spoken and has a lot of patience. Dr. Krill is very helpful he throughly explains everything and answers all of our questions if any. Dr. Krill and Crystal are definitely a dream team!

I have read some of the comments about difficulties with the administrative staff and will address this later. In general, I call the front desk staff of medical facilities "gatekeepers." And they will make or break your access to your doctors! To give you some context: In my experience, I needed approval from another specialist to get a colonoscopy. This other specialist had a horrible front desk assistant who lost my approval form, claimed the doctor doesn't complete such forms (after I had just left his office, and he had agreed), and she ignored the doctor's follow-up orders and instead chatted with the nurse for 10 minutes about nothing. Then she left me in an empty office when she took off to NOT do her job. It was dark and almost 7 pm by then. Because I felt something was weird about her, I took a picture of the doctor's follow up orders and approval notes. It served me well. Now, for Dr. Krill's staff. Yes, one of the front desk ladies is impersonal. I noticed that on my first visit. After I finally went to the other specialist in my attempt to get an approval letter, I did run into difficulties trying to explain the events that happened with Dr. Krill's staff. His staff did hear my messages, but it was confusing. I explained the situation and it was hit or miss on whoever I managed to get on the phone or whoever tried to get back to me with a voicemail. I didn't get anywhere. So, this is the impressive difference. During my first meeting with Dr. Krill, he gave me a method of contacting him directly if I ever needed to. How many doctors do that? It's rare. I kept the information and months went by. Once I had the referral issue with the specialist's staff refusing to write my approved referral, after struggling for about 2 weeks, I directly contacted Dr. Krill. I'm shy and really had been hesitant but by this time desperation triumphed over timidity. I reached out to Dr. Krill. The very next day I was scheduled. I don't know him very well, but I could tell he was special during my first visit, and he seems amazing. I haven't undergone the procedure just yet, but I'll think about providing an update. (Note: Please don't use this story as a license to spam and message the doctor repeatedly. The man has a job to do. It is important to practice the heavenly virtue of self-restraint :)...)
