Yummy's Hot Chicken

I dont know what happened to this place. They use to be the best hot chicken in town. I haven't been here since they moved from the chimney rock location until now, and it wasn't good. Chicken was dry, the batter just fell off when I picked it up. Barely an flavor or seasoning. All I tasted was grease.

I really appreciate that they stay open late because it’s perfect when you’re craving good food at night. This isn’t just decent late night food, it’s genuinely flavorful and well prepared. The spice level is on the stronger side, so even the milder option may be a bit much for some people. That said, the chicken is excellent, well seasoned, and tastes like it’s been properly marinated and brined. Definitely a place worth coming back to.

Stoped he after the dancing with my wife. We ordered two chicken sandwiches, one spicy, and a no mercy for me. Of the boxes, only one was marked spicy. We assumed it was my no mercy. After a few bits my wife looked like she was in a sauna. Turns out the no mercy was not marked, and oh my it was the most intense heat I have eaten in years. I had joked with the staff when I ordered that I would remember them tomorrow, a frequent joke when ordering spicy food. Well this was the first time ever it was true. Capsician levels so high I could feel it using the restroom in the morning. We also ordered waffle fries and crinkle fries, both were exceptionally crispy and fresh. The cheese sticks were also delicious. I would definitely recommend trying this out, and will think the Numbers staff who recommend it.

Unfortunately too inconsistent. Used to be a 10/10 every time - now about 75% of the time my order has a very stale, old bun that is crumbling and tastes off, and the chicken portion is half the usual amount. The fries are sometimes burnt and leave a weird aftertaste. Please fix this! This was my go to when I’m not feeling well, and I have a lot of treatment coming up this year so I’d love to be able to return as a customer.

This food was DELICIOUS! The chicken was hot, fresh, and full of flavor! I got the mild sauce and it wasn’t spicy at all! My only regret is not getting the regular spicy sauce because I am sure it is fantastic! I will be coming here every time I am in Houston! It is a food truck and the owners are very upbeat. Wonderful place to eat.
