I had a fantastic experience at Yong’s Bakery in Houston! I tried both the Sock it To Me Pound Cake and the 7up Pound Cake, and they were absolutely delicious. The Sock it To Me Cake was moist, with a delightful swirl of cinnamon and pecans, topped with just the right amount of glaze for added sweetness. The 7up Pound Cake was equally impressive—dense, buttery, and full of that classic lemony flavor that made each bite feel like a treat. The texture was perfect, and both cakes tasted fresh and homemade. I highly recommend Yong’s Bakery for anyone looking for authentic, flavorful pound cakes in Houston. I’ll definitely be back for more!

Huge thank you to Mrs. Yong for blessing us with our 3 tier wedding cake on 7/7/25! We chose the Sock it To Me and Yellow Butter cream cakes and the cake was gone TOO quick. Should have gotten 2! Thank you Mrs. Yong for baking the cake, delivering the cake, & decorating the cake! Mrs. Yong helped make our day that much more special!

I have followed Yong’s Bakery on FB for a long time and I finally stopped by today for my husband’s birthday. He always says, “I want to try her cakes one day.” We live on the other side of town and it hasn’t always been feasible but I pressed my way today and WHAT A TREAT IT WAS! I was able to meet Mrs. Yong herself! It’s like I knew her; I was literally star struck! I purchased a lemon cake with lemon icing and it was YUMDERFUL!!! My husband was so excited that he cut the cake before we could sing happy birthday, lol! Thank you Yong’s Bakery, it was worth the wait!!!

I came across Yong’s Bakery through social media and was intrigued by their behind-the-scenes videos. Ms. Yong and her son seemed to work well together, with Ms. Yong focused on the business and her son adding humor and social media appeal. I decided to support their small business and ordered cake slices after seeing their wide variety of options. The ordering process was a bit confusing. I was instructed to pay via Cash App and then provide my order details. After I submitted my payment and information, I didn’t hear back. When I followed up, I was told the payment had failed due to “CashApp bugging,” which felt unprofessional. Adding to my concern, I saw a video where the son mentioned that payments should go directly to the bakery’s phone number, making me unsure if I was communicating with the actual bakery or just the son. After expressing my concerns on their Facebook page, I believe management stepped in to address the issue. Although the communication gap caused a delay, I ultimately received my cakes, which were delicious and worth the wait. While the cakes were great, I hope the bakery can streamline their payment and communication process to avoid similar issues in the future. I’ll definitely consider ordering again, but I’ll likely stick to ordering directly through the bakery versus through text/CashApp type of transactions to ensure a smoother experience.
