Velvet Taco

Velvet Taco is hands down one of my favorites. This was literally my first stop after landing in Houston, and it never misses. The Chicken & Waffle taco is an absolute must-order. I also tried the Spicy Tikka, Korean Fried Rice, and Mexicali Shrimp—everything hit, but the Spicy Tikka and Chicken & Waffle definitely stole the show. The service is super friendly, and the queso was delicious—easily our favorite side. Highly recommend the combo (2 tacos, chips, a side, and a fountain drink for $15). Such a good deal. The location itself is great—super cute inside, with both indoor and outdoor seating, plus a little rooftop area. Great food and great vibes. Can’t ask for more. I’ve been to this and other locations before, and when they have the Shrimp & Grits taco, GET IT—it’s insane. Everything here hits, I swear. Can’t wait to go back for more!

I always enjoy my weekly strolls down Westheimer Rd through the heart of Monstrose Houston! I haven’t stopped by one of my favorite spots in quite some time… VELVET TACO! Absolutely love this place! Consistent, Customer-Friendly, and Connection are three things I’m guaranteed to experience here! The food is always on point. Not only with taste and varied options for my vegan family, but also, portion moderation…. For those who are looking for a quick bite to eat that will hit the spot but also won’t overwhelm your digestive system, come to VELVET! To a couple of my new friends (Lidia and Liston) who were so friendly while taking my order, got me in and out with a quick taco and authentic smiles! The energy of the staff always match the good vibes of the actual space (love the music if you can’t tell LOL)… While eating the delicious Velvet Cake on the balcony that overlooked Westheimer… I ran into a few creatives I know in the city! You’ll always see someone you know at VELVET! This is definitely one of the best spots to a get a quality and affordable taco in HOUSTON! Thank you Velvet! U da best!!

I absolutely love this combo of the Nashville tofu tacos and queso!! I also had one of the best customer service experiences with Lidia, she was great and so sweet. Every location doesn’t have that. She was very patient over the phone and very kind in person. The great customer service with great food would make me come back & recommend to friends. 10/10

Velvet Taco one of the my favorite place. The order process was super quick and smooth, which I appreciated. The tacos were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, just the way I like them. Great spot when you’re craving something delicious without a long wait!

Food was delish. Service was great. 2nd floor needs some TLC... there's a particular smell that wasn't pleasant. My friends and I couldn't pinpoint exactly what smell it was. Oh, the pellet ice machine needs some care as well.
