Ive been here A lot over the last few years as they were the most consistent out of the Jamaican places near/in Katy. I haven't been most recently because there have been a lot of new places that opened up. Sunday I decided to go back since I hadnt been there in a while. I spent $70 on a nice size red snapper which was undercooked and a large oxtail which were super tough. the rice and peas looked a little off and smelled really sour as if maybe it had been cooked and left sitting out for a day or two. definitely wasn't fresh and smelled as if it was old and possibly reheated; the taste was definitely bad too. We ended up throwing all the food away. The service is always good. I've never had any bad service and typically I have pretty decent food from here however, this time it just wasn't good and the food definitely was thrown away.

Very clean place with friendly and welcoming staff. Easy menu to read and prices are great for the portion. The Food was hot and delicious and served fast and fresh. I will definitely be coming here more often.

Absolutely delicious. I got the oxtails, curry goat, and a beef patty. All super good, meat very tender and flavorful. The patty was hot and flaky and the filling slightly peppery. The portions were quite large as well with lots of meet. Friendly staff as well and clean establishment. Loved it.

Food was good. Service was nice. I'll have to go back a few more times to give 5 stars. I would have enjoyed more rice with my large Jerk Chicken tbh but it was good.

Oh my goodness, where do I start?! Tropical Diner is AMAZING! I’d never tried Jamaican food before, so I decided to give this place a try. I’ve had food delivered via door dash from this restaurant each time I’ve eaten. The food arrived quickly, hot, and FRESH! I always get the jerk chicken platter with rice & peas, beef patties, and plantains. It’s soooooooo good! I was ordering multiple times a week at work. That’s just how amazing the food is. I want to visit in person someday and also try new foods. I’m literally hooked. Thank you Tropical Diner for your amazing good. I wish I could give a million stars.
