You must go inside to the bar to order your food and drink. It's pretty dark inside and could use some lighting along with fresh greetings. There are plenty of spots to sit and the shading outside along with the fans is nice on a hot day. They do allow pets and have bowls sitting on a shelf outside for your furry friend to enjoy some water if you'd like. The help will clean up as you leave and if you need a to go box you can find them at the side of the bar towards the left along with napkins, fountain drinks, silverware restrooms and water. I would give the food a solid 4 stars but half of the onion rings required taking the peel out of them that was inedible! The chicken sandwiches were cooked nicely as were the sweet potato fries but the best part of the meal was the appetizer. The buffalo cauliflower was absolutely amazing! I would have been happy with just them and a cold beverage to fill up on. Personally, I find the lack of service puzzling and feel they could really use a couple upbeat servers to put things back in order along with some newer menus. The Bars name Onion Creek truly does make you want to cry a river for some service.

my husband and i were looking for a place to grab lunch on a friday afternoon and we came across onion creek. we looked it up online and decided it was cool place because the menu was really expansive and we didn't know what we were in the mood for. when we walked in, we were greeted by a yound lady behind the bar, super friendly and helpful answering questions as we decided what we wanted. my husband ordered the brisket frito pie with a side of the hand battered onion rings and i ordered the beyond burger with the hand battered onion rings. the food was really good and we walked away with half of the portion to have for dinner. we also had the blueberry lemonade, good, but really sweet. plenty of seating inside and covered seating outside. we will definitely be back!

Stopped by Onion Creek before a show at White Oak Music Hall — perfect little pre-concert hangout. The place has an easy, laid-back vibe: clean, spacious, and a chill outdoor patio that just feels right on a warm Houston evening. It’s counter service, and the person taking our order was awesome — friendly, quick, and knew the menu. Food came out fast and hit the spot. I had a cheeseburger and onion rings — fresh bun, perfectly seasoned beef, crispy rings… zero complaints there. Drinks were just okay, but good enough to sip on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Overall, a solid spot to grab a bite and unwind before the music starts. Would definitely come back.

I enjoyed onion creek. It was my first visit and if I have the chance I'll be back. I had chicken and waffles and it was pretty good. The place is pretty much self serve. You order from the bar and they bring out your food. After that you're on your own for refills and such. I guess you could go back to the bar for help. I liked the music which was mostly 90's alternative like Soundgarden, STP and the like. It was a little hard to have a conversation over the music, but we were inside. They have a lot of outdoor seating. I saw a lot of people with there dogs. Which I love.

Our group ordered four of the Cuban brisket burgers since I have had them several times and they have always been good, but not today. All four of our burgers were loaded up with these 1 in square cubes of pure fat. I spoke with the cook about it and he said he can't control the meat. I said well somebody had to cut the meat and put it on the burger. He had nothing to say, no apology no nothing. He did offer to refund our money so we did that and left to eat at another restaurant. Reminds me of one of those guys that takes things out on other people when he has a bad day. What a horrible person and a horrible experience.
