two of us had 3 dishes, 2 are good and one is below average. I will suggest you switch Chongching beef and chicken to something else, it’s toooooo oily but not flavorful.

TLDR: food good but not always consistent, more of a traditional Chinese flavor (4 stars). Service is mid but we got treated poorly this last time so we just left before even ordering. I’ve been here over 10 times by now and the food is good although sometimes inconsistent. I like the Spicy Numbing Dry Pot and that dish in particular varies on spice level, quantity, and what veggies they decide to add. Still good though. The reason I docked a point and gave it only 3 stars is because this most recent visit, our service was bad. Although most of times service isn’t “great”, it’s a small enough restaurant that you can flag your server down with ease. This time however, we go on a weekend and we ask for a table for 2 and ask for a booth. Mind you half the restaurant is empty and I can visibly see that 4 large booths are available. The hostess tells us that no, they can’t give us a booth because if a group of 3 or more comes in they’d have nowhere to put them. But they had 3 other booths available even if they sat us in one of them. And there were other couples in these same booths on the other side, like… Anyways, the tone and her shortness did not sit well with us and we just left. I didn’t want to be harsh and rate this place unfairly so it still gets 3 stars in my book. The food definitely saves this place from getting a worse score

We ordered Kang Pao and Shrimp with walnuts. I didn’t like kang pao as celery in it wasn’t cooked enough. Shrimp was better but it was too sweet for my taste

Small, quaint little restaurant in Rice Village. Great food, good prices, and friendly service. All the food came out in lightning speed.

I went for a Friday lunch, and there was a lively atmosphere of mostly Chinese people. I had the pork belly in brown sauce and was absolutely delicious. I did not expect such a high level of quality - this place has now surpassed Cafe Ginger as my favorite Chinese restaurant in town.
