I ordered a cake from the village bakery for my friend’s 50th birthday party and it was absolutely incredible!!! Everyone was impressed and said the cake was so delicious and kept asking where it was from. I knew exactly what I wanted and sent specifications for a customized Pina Colada cake, but modern and elegant. It was fruity, but not overly sweet. The cake was fluffy but still moist. The frosting was soft and creamy. The whole experience was perfect. Thank you for helping make this vision come to life and the special occasion even more memorable. You definitely have my vote for anyone needing a cake in Houston!

We came in because we needed a last minute cake and they did a good job. They made me a cake on the spot and it was nice! The chocolate cake tasted great!

I’ve gotten a few cakes from here over the years (at least 4 maybe 5) but this will likely be my last. Very sad about it because I don’t like cake in general, I only eat cake from this bakery. First, I asked for a strawberry flavored cake with strawberry filling, however I received a vanilla cake with strawberry filling. I always order the same cake and ask for it just like that “strawberry cake WITH real strawberry filling” so I’m not sure how it got lost in translation. My order was even repeated back to me. The taste of it was fine but it just wasn’t what I asked for. Second, I asked for a very simple design — plain icing with small pink hearts drawn all over, the hearts were so sloppy and barely any of them actually looked like hearts. It sucks because the website displays quite a few intricate designs but something as simple as hearts couldn’t be executed properly. I have also ordered this same exact cake before & it was executed well at that time. I noticed it upon pickup but didn’t complain because I didn’t have time for them to fix it so why bother complaining? But when I cut into the cake and saw that it wasn’t what I asked for I decided to leave a review. The cake itself was $200 and I don’t mind playing for quality but this was not at all a worthy experience. This is actually the second time my order has been incorrect upon cutting into it. Last year’s cake was strawberry flavored but was missing the strawberry filling. That was amended and I was offered a credit that never expires which was nice and I appreciated that.

The village bakery was amazing! I did a custom order of tennis-themed cupcakes and they were exactly what I asked for. Terrific service, everyone was so kind. And the cupcakes were delicious! Thank you, village bakery!!
