Been here twice, back to back Saturdays. Each time the staff was great, food was hot and delicious and bathrooms and restaurant was clean. The chicken and waffles with medium heat was the best I've had and the Sleezy Chicken was surprisingly delicious too! We don't venture off to Houston very much, but when we do, we'll go here for our next lunch!

Came on a Sunday afternoon not wanting regular big chain fast food. Warmly greeted by the manager, Charles, who, by the way, had an aura that was so positive and charming I would literally name my first born after him. The chicken was so delicious, very crispy, and had a nice flavor to it. The mac & cheese went down easily as a smooth cheesy flavor. The spice levels (mild & medium) weren't too bad, but that medium does tend to creep up on you. 10/10 experience would most definitely come here again. The doctors are going to find cookshack DNA in my arteries when I die from coming here so often. ALSO Charles gave us a complimentary Butterscotch Ice cream sandwich which could literally bring a man out of a coma. Awesome place, damn good chicken, and an amazing atmosphere. I'm going to have my wedding here.

Nut allergy feiendly - No issues here. I ordered to-go and traveled about 6 minutes before consuming. Ordered the Chicken Sandwich (medium) with sweet potato fries, and an add-on side of cole slaw. The sandwich does come with some Cole slaw on the side to put together, which I appreciated so that the sandwich doesn't get too soggy. However, it's not nearly enough for the size of the sandwich, so I would recommend ordering extra Cole slaw. The fries unfortunately didn't travel too well and didn't retain any crispiness. The sandwich, however, remained crispy and the meat was still juicy and tender. Medium heat was not that spicy. The Cole slaw does have a bit of a vinegar kick, but it is not bad. Overall, a solid chicken sandwich. I'd come back.

This has to be one of the best food places I have visited in a very long time. The music was amazing, they had my wine, and the ribs and chicken definitely make me rant and rave about this location. Now had I known the fries would have been spicy I would have ordered them non spicy. I couldn’t even stomach them and my mouth was on fire. The complimentary ice cream was delicious and now I know better when it comes to the fries. Highly recommend this place delicious

From the moment you walk into the door of The Cookshack, you are treated like you’re part of their family - not just a random person ordering chicken. SERVICE: 10/10 The staff here is extremely attentive, welcoming and knowledgeable of the menu. We were even lucky enough to meet the managing partner, Mike, who chatted with us and shared some personal stories and some of the cool things planned for his restaurant. FOOD: 10/10 I ordered a 5 piece tender meal with sweet potato fries and the entire meal was outstanding. They have varying levels of spice, and I went with mild - which was extremely tasty. Next time I’ll probably go with the medium for a little extra kick. The chicken was perfectly crunchy, and the entire meal was an experience I just didn’t want to end. My girlfriend ordered the chicken sandwich, with a side of mac and cheese, which was also very good. VIBE: 10/10 Great location on Washington Avenue with plenty of parking. Also, the inside is super fun, and would also be a great place to enjoy some drinks after work. Overall, this place is a must-visit in my book. They do all the little things absolutely perfectly, and the entire package makes for one excellent dining establishment. Definitely add The Cookshack to your list of places to try, and tell them Alex sent ya - You won’t be disappointed with this gem 💎 TLDR; top notch food, with even better service. A MUST VISIT!
