The three of us, teenage boys from Elkins High School, entered at 7 PM on Thursday night. Although Thai American Bistro may appear to be a small restaurant off University Boulevard, it is a great restaurant that offers big flavors, excellent service, and a cozy atmosphere. When we first arrived, we were welcomed by the staff and they were extremely accommodating when asked if we could film. The restaurant itself has a very cozy, family-run feel. With its yellow walls, umbrellas hanging from the roof, and photos of Thailand plastered around the restaurant, Thai American Bistro really felt like we were right at home. We decided to start with an appetizer of fried tofu. The tofu by itself lacked a great deal of flavor. However, the dipping sauce was phenomenal, packed with flavor, tangy, and just a little addictive. For our main dishes, we ordered Pad Thai, Basil Fried Rice, and Thai Fried Rice with Tofu. The Pad Thai was a very colorful dish, with the noodles, vegetables, and peanuts balanced perfectly to create a hearty meal that felt authentically Thai. The Basil Fried Rice was just as good as the Pad Thai. It was juicy and well seasoned, with tender chicken and sautéed vegetables to bring it all together. The Thai Fried Rice was equally as tasty. The tofu for the Thai fried rice was also a lot more flavorful than the appetizer, and the rice had a lot of variety of vegetables. The garnishing itself was well plated as it contained sauteed cilantro and bell peppers dazzling the surface of the rice. The service was prompt and attentive, and it was clear that the staff took pride in ensuring our dining experience was seamless, and even when there was an insignificant lapse with the bill, it was solved with minimal inconvenience. The restaurant was mostly immaculate including the bathrooms and certainly exhibited the same attention to detail in the food and service. The atmosphere was a little crowded and noisy, but the service combined with the food provided a pleasant experience. For dessert, we shared coconut ice cream and roti, which was a fusion of Thai and Indian. Even though we were somewhat sceptical that this combination would not work, it was very surprisingly good and something I'd have again. Overall, the Thai American Bistro exceeded all of our expectations. A small, simple, casual restaurant appearance ended up being a delicious and welcoming restaurant, which personified the essence of everything I've known about Thai food. I'd certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious restaurant experience in the Sugarland area with hospitality and authenticity.

Flavorful Thai servings in a hole-in-a-wall setting with quick and friendly service. We had the Chicken Satay, Pad Kee Mow, Penang Curry, and Thai Fried Rice. They were all good with fulfilling portions. The mango with sticky rice made for nice dessert too. Thai Tea was good as expected. We went with medium spicy level which was just hot enough to contribute to the overall taste profile but didn't cause any discomfort. Our server was quite courteous and welcoming.

Homemade made Thai dishes, that is so good 👍🏾. I had the spicy crispy chicken plate. If you're in the Sienna Plantation area, please stop by or order online. Great customer service!

Thai American never disappoints! The food is always consistent and of outstanding quality. Every dish we’ve tried has been excellent and unmistakably fresh. It’s a go-to take out spot for sure. What makes it even better is how family-friendly it is. The kids’ meals are fantastic and thoughtfully portioned and a big hit with kiddos! A true neighborhood gem that is consistently excellent, warm, and reliable. Highly recommended!

Ugh. This place is yummmm! It’s a small place but super busy! I picked this place cause it seemed simple and good, boy was it GOOD! We started with fried wonton and chicken satay, the peanut sauce was sooooo good And for dinner we have the combination Thai fried rice I was able to order chicken beef and tofu! I lovedddd every bit of it and my fav was the tofu. We also got pad Thai, and that came with chicken, also so good! Again this place was super busy with someone coming thru the door every 5-10 mins to pick up dinner and all 6 tables had people sitting at it. Again small place to dine in, but it was so goood! Plus the ladies were super sweet to me
