Had an a great experience tonight at the new Star Rover Houston. It was a fun experience to try the menu. We had the chopped steak, good flavor just not a style of meat I would typically order. The redfish was AMAZING. I would recommend it to anyone coming here. Can never go wrong with onion rings and the fries were potato wedge style. We had fried oysters as a starter. Great flavor, if you’re a fan of oysters. Now, the seller. The frozen espresso martini. It was the best drink I have had in a while. I would recommend everyone to try star rover!

Every dish was packed with flavor. The brunch plates were amazing and the cocktails were delicious. The staff (especially Layla) was incredibly friendly and made the whole experience even better. We can’t wait to go back!

This new concept of an old school Texas steak house is a great addition to the area. It reminded us of the old Ducho's steakhouse from the 80's. The food is made from scratch. The menu is simple. The music is vintage Texas country, great vibe. Cool bar. Free skee-ball on the patio. The cocktails were top notch. The salad and the sides come with everything you order. The CFC is the best bang for your buck. It's half of a chicken de-boned and chicken fried. The menu is simple, focused and good. It's not for the dieter or the super picky. I wish they fried in tallow, other than that it's fantastic! They make their own "A1" sauce but the steak didn't need it. The green goddess dressing is also house made and great!

It's not often Im impressed. The service was top notch (Kia), the dinner rolls omg, the salad oh wow. The food was like down home style cooking but elevated by the details and executed perfectly. If you're looking for comfort American in the Heights this place is it. (Photos don't do it justice)

Came here to try the steak fajitas, which we enjoyed! The quality and flavoring of the fajita steak was good, and their tortillas were freshly baked and high quality as well. For more than $50 for the large (1/2 pound) serving, I’m not sure if it’d be worth coming back for me but still was glad to try once. The beef enchilada we got was also very good, had a rich flavor and sauce, and the chips and queso were solid. The vibe inside the restaurant is slightly more elevated than your typical Tex Mex chain.
