My first visit ti Southern Soul Kitchen and lived the ambiance. Cool jazz/instrumental in the background. We were served by Christian, what an incredible young man?! He ensured we were satisfied. Kept checking in on us. The food was tasty, presentation was pleasing to the eyes and our taste buds. The side veg was a tad salty for me but did not deem our whole experience. Thinking of some soul food, Southern Soul Kitchen in Rosenberg comes highly recommended.

Everything we ordered was great. The food is well flavored and seasoned. The meat was tender and fell off the bone. The portions are generous so come with a big appetite. This place by far is better than Miki’s if your looking for soul food closer to Rosenburg . The food is well worth the price. On our very first visit We ordered as an appetizer crab cakes and seafood gumbo. Our main was oxtails and smothered turkey. Followed by peach cobbler and German chocolate cake. This is our new favorite soul food spot. The owner Karen is friendly and hospitable. We visit every week now and we have our favorites on the menu and we try new things. Never disappointed. The food is really good. Great place. Our week is not complete if we do not stop by here for a meal.

First time visiting for us! Great - Very clean - atmosphere, very friendly employees, really good food. We enjoyed our visit and everything about it. We were pleasantly surprised as to the amount of food we received and will definitely be visiting again. We got the seafood burger with onion rings and the shrimp basket with sweet potato fries and cornbread. We realized several other patrons were regulars based on their correspondence with the ee’s which made us feel good Please try when you have a chance!

Soulllfoodddd!! Ordering online was quick and easy. Picking up was super quick and the older lady there was so sweet. The fried shrimp batter tasted very lemony, I wasn't a fan of it but everything else was great. The shrimp and grits was delicious according to my husband.

We came to this restaurant because of it’s high ratings, but unfortunately it was pretty disappointing.. The vibe & atmosphere was wonderful. The server was very kind & attentive.. However, the food was just not very good… The chicken, fish, & Mac n cheese were decent, but everything else was terrible. The greens were so overcooked & mushy. They were like bad spinach. Almost like they’ve been cooking for a week. I sent them back for cabbage. The cabbage was okay… nothing special. Red beans has potential, but very under seasoned. The smoothed pork chop was insanely over seasoned. Maybe if it was paired with rice, it would’ve been okay. But, it was a solid no. Lastly, the peach cobbler….. we got it because the server said it’s 10/10 and they always sell out…. In my husbands words “The is terrible”… I’ve come to terms that Houston isn’t the place for good southern desserts, it’s also disappointing when a dish is overhyped & not good… Overall, the food is kinda all over the place with the flavors. Some things are bland, while others are too salty.. it had potential, but potential just doesn’t do it for me.
