Made it over to Southern Maid Donuts (3440 Riley Fuzzel Rd, Spring, TX 77386) this morning to try the huge breakfast tacos that I have read about. Compared to other breakfast tacos in the area, it is definitely larger and heftier. It’s about 6.5” long and 1.5” round. It’s basically a small breakfast burrito in terms of size. I tried the potato, sausage, egg, and cheese cheese taco. The tortilla does not seem to be made in-house, so I am always a bit disappointed when I see those. The eggs were light and fluffy which was a bit surprising. Most if not all the breakfast tacos that I have tried recently have the eggs a bit over cooked, so it’s uncommin to find them light and fluffy. The breakfast sausage used is a bit different. It lacked the distinct flavor of breakfast sausages that you get from anywhere really such as fast food chains or even the grocery stores. Maybe it’s made in-house. It’s not terrible, just unexpected. The potatoes were cooked all the way through but not crispy on the outside. I feel like potatoes in a breakfast taco need to be crispy. Yes, I understand that crispy potatoes lose that crisp crunch after being wrapped in the rest of the ingredients, but for whatever the reason, it makes the taco more delicious for me. The staff is great. Very pleasant to work with and even mentioned the free donut deal. I also love how clean the restaurant appeared. It’s always comforting to see a clean establishment. The 3 item kolaches in the display look huge! I may try them next time. I am curious if it mainly bread or filling. The tacos are $3.49, so you will be paying about $3.79 after tax. It’s priced higher than other breakfast taco offerings in the area, but it’s also a lot bigger. Overall, it’s a decent taco. I am not sure if you can eat two, but you can always try.

Cool, little place. The bacon egg and cheese kolache are great warmed up or cold. Doughnuts are great. I mean, it's a doughnut. How can you go wrong.

Horrible customer service. Hispanic ladies have a disgusting attitude. I asked if they had iced coffee which I always get when I come here and she shrugged me off and just said no she can’t make it. What type of donut shop is this? I saw the same ladies give multiple people attitude for simply ordering for their families. DONT GO HERE.

Our orange juice tasted sour, was a darker color, there was no expiration date except the manufacture date of 2022. When telling the lady she said it was good didn't want to help. I told her it wasn't asked for a different kind. They gave us sunny d and when asking if the price was the same she laughed and said yes but there sign said a small orange juice is $1.55 and the large was $2.59. And didn't give me a refund for the difference.

The women at the drive thru greet us with a warm smile and positive attitude every morning. They are a joy to order from.
