My husband and I just had to try Annie B’s Southern Cuisine (Soul Y Mex Kitchen) located at 9603 FM 1960 W, Houston, TX 77070! First things first—there is going to be a wait. Mrs. Annie B just had her grand reopening yesterday, and today was only day two. Trust me when I say it is absolutely worth the wait! What impressed me immediately was the hospitality. Mrs. Annie B personally came outside to check on customers waiting in line and even offered us water while we waited. Once inside, we were welcomed by beautiful gospel music and a warm, inviting atmosphere. There are benches and tables available while you wait for your order, along with plenty of dining space including tables, booths, and high-top seating. We spent about $82 for three plates, and YES—it was worth every single penny! Here’s what we ordered: • Meatloaf with mashed potatoes, Mary’s Mac, and yams • Fried catfish with black-eyed peas and collard greens • Oxtails with green beans BABY, let me tell you about these oxtails! The meat was literally falling off the bone. The catfish was seasoned to perfection, fried crispy, and not greasy at all. The meatloaf was amazing—tender, flavorful, and topped with just the right touch of sweetness. Every single side was delicious. No complaints whatsoever! And honey, the Kool-Aid was SO GOOD! I got the grape flavor and it did not disappoint. They did run out of cornbread, but they made up for it by giving us another drink, which was greatly appreciated. A huge thank you to Mrs. Annie B and her amazing staff for the wonderful hospitality and incredible food. My husband and I drove all the way from Huntsville just to try it, and I can honestly say it was 100% worth the trip. We’ll definitely be back!

Good Afternoon, I came to Annie B’s Southern Cuisine this afternoon with a friend, it was our first time here. The older lady at the door was amazing recommended options and is very helpful. They have a reasonable wait time considering other places you have to wait 2+ hours. I was sitting down eating my food by least than an hour after arriving. The costumer service is so phenomenal, they even go as far as offering bottled water while customers wait in line. I recommend Annie B’s Southern Cuisine, I had a great experience.

First and foremost, pack your patience if go. If you can call it in, do so. I loved everything with the exception of the cabbage. It had no flavor. That's an easy fix, though. The portions are great and it's enough for 2 meals. I had the Turkey Wings over rice with broccoli & cheese rice and yams. Delicious!! I grabbed the meatloaf, also. It comes on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes with 2 extra sides, also. I love that the menu has variety without being overwhelming. They have desserts beverages for purchase, also. I'm definitely going to try some of the other items, but I'll place my order to go.

The absolute definition of Southern hospitality. We drove 45 minutes from Rosenberg last night to try this place after seeing it on a Facebook reel. So we loaded up and made the trip. I knew it was later in the evening and the post had warned they might be out of items close to closing, but we still wanted to give it a try. After ordering and waiting a bit, we found out they were out of most of the side dishes we had our hearts set on. Ms. Tracy handled the situation with so much grace and kindness. We decided to get a refund and come back today so we could try everything we originally came for. I’m so glad we did. It was absolutely worth the wait. The food was everything we expected and more. We’ll definitely be back!

Mrs. Tracy has The Best customer service and The Best Fresh food. My husband and I ordered the oxtails with rice, green beans and sweet potatoes. Yes my granny had to be cooking in her kitchen for them sweet potatoes. This place will bless your spirit and your stomach. Pull up and enjoy some great season food made with love. Also grab you a kool aid and that lemonade in the bottle to hold everything down. You will thank me for this one.
