I feel so lucky I stumbled upon the sweetest little lunch spot, Salento Bistrot! (of course I was thrifting right around the corner) I was definitely unsure of what they offered but the place appeared quaint and cozy. I instinctively got a warm welcoming vibe. They offer indoor and outdoor seating and the waitstaff was polite as they come. I ordered the salmon dish that comes with an empanada and oh boy it was beyond DELICIOUS!!! I choose the spinach empanada but apparently they have a large variety of other options to choose from. They offer wine and other pastries as well. I order a coffee and it was pure perfection! The menu is very limited, but the options look tasty. I would’ve sat outside had it not been frigid that day. The parking can be can be limited in that area but I wouldn’t let that stop you! My suggestion is that you do not pass this place up! So do yourself a favor and put it on your list of places to visit! Happy Eating!🍽️

We absolutely loved our dinner here. My husband and father in law loved the seafood paella! I had the salmon and it was divine! Our daughter had the pesto pasta and that picky eater ate every bite so that speaks volumes! The desserts, oh my so mouth watering. I had the tart, my husband had the apricot tart and father in law had the lemon cake. All 3 were just fantastic. Our service was wonderful, our server was very knowledgeable of the menu, checked on us without being overbearing and glasses were always full. We really enjoyed our dining experience here.

We came in for lunch restaurant week. The physical building itself was nice- the decor was also lovely. However, the service was not the best- we waited between entrees for a while and our server did not check on us much. The appetizers were great, no complaints. The entrees were okay- the best item was the roasted cauliflower. The desserts were the best thing we had. The absolutely amazing pastries saved the end of the visit. (My friend found a hair in hers unfortunately) Overall an alright place.

We always love their paella, hummus duo, & other appetizers 🫶🏻. Comparable to the paella in barcelona 🥰

Visiting Rice Village presents many dining options. If you’re looking for a place with above average food that isn’t large and crowded, then a place you want to visit is Salento Bistrot. With this bistro- style restaurant, you get a limited but delicious assortment of food options, from salads to pasta to sandwiches and tacos. I personally like the empanadas best. They have about ten from which to choose and if you want to make a meal out of it, you can get the empanada platter, which includes two empanadas and a side of soup. The empanadas feature a flaky crust and there are lots of creative choices among the ten. Beer is a little bit lacking at Salento Bistrot, but they do have a nice selection of wine. There is outdoor seating, too, and the interior remains reasonably quiet, thanks to the fact that there aren’t that many tables or seats. This makes it a good restaurant choice when you want to eat and drink in relative peace and carry on a conversation with the person next to you. Parking can be somewhat of a challenge at this restaurant. You need to look for a free spot on the street, or if you don’t mind paying, there is paid parking in the front and a parking garage across the street, which also carries a charge. They offer happy hour prices, too, so try to get here before the dinner rush, if you can. Overall, I find Salento Bistrot a very nice, intimate place for food and drink. The limited menu means you don’t have to spend so long trying to make a decision and the tasty food will leave you feeling satisfied.
