Sable Gate was so elegant and offered a grown and sexy vibe! I went with a few girlfriends while on a girls trip in TX! Ms. Sylvia (owner) was so nice and welcoming. Parking was very limited as there is a night club connected to the building and their guest had priority access to the parking lot. We didn’t order any pizza or cheese to go with our wine but we really didn’t need it! The wine did just what it was meant to do! I purchased the strawberry resin wine made in house - it was DELICIOUS!!! If you’re looking for a nice night out with the ladies or even with your man, this place won’t disappoint!

Alexis was fantastic. Her service was phenomenal and I loved her attitude. Unfortunately, there was an incident with my steak. It was not able to be cooked right and then they had to defrost a steak and it was horrible. If you're going to charge $30 for a steak it needs to be amazing. The charcuterie was rated as being just okay. At least hide the fact you're using HEB brand chips and Smuckers jelly.. being downtown Houston, you need to have a certain level of quality, this place would be great if the prices were cut by 25-50%. I love local places, but this isn't the place for me. If you're going to drink or attend the random dance class going on in the front of the restaurant, it will be fine. But don't go on a date.

Tried Sable Gate out for Friday date night & it did not disappoint! The wines were excellent. We ordered the winemakers flight and each tasting was explained in detail by the sommelier & owner, Szilvia. We also had a wonderful charcuterie board + pizza and enjoyed the attention to detail that the staff displayed! We joined as members and will definitely be back! PS, this place has really cool options to host bottling parties & make your own custom labels for gifting; so cool!

Our experience was very pleasant. We were greeted and seated immediately upon entering. Fortunately, we had a reservation, as I saw several people come and go because they had not made a reservation. When we arrived, it was almost empty, but it was hopping by the time we left at 8:00. We ordered the charcuterie and the Sommelier Wine Flight. The server was very attentive to my tastes, described the wines as he brought them in a very informative way, and he even changed out the final wine because of my preferences. I ended up taking home a couple of bottles, and it was a very pleasant evening. The place has a night-life vibe, very energetic, yet we didn’t feel like it was too noisy to be able to enjoy our date. The only thing I would change would be a more varied menu. Although it seems like the draw for the place is the wine and the experience, so understandably, the dinner menu may not be a priority. We got the charcuterie board, and then ended up going somewhere else afterward to get dinner. We didn’t mind that, but it would have been nice to have some more menu options other than the charcuterie and pizza to choose from and I probably would have stayed longer and ordered another glass or two of wine. Overall, it was a nice experience, and we will definitely be returning.

I heard about this little winery through a friend and I’m so glad I did! The owners we awesome and explained the different wines in the flight we choose. There were 3 of us and we all choose the 7 glass sweet flight. My friends ordered pizza including one gluten free which was just as delicious. I ordered the charcuterie and cheese board. They added goat cheese to my board upon my request. Everything is as delicious and we will be returning again soon!
