Ruggles Black Restaurant

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a fantastic experience at Ruggles Black, and a big part of that was our wonderful server, Gabriel. From the moment we sat down, he was warm, friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful. Gabriel took the time to make thoughtful recommendations, and his suggestions for both drinks and desserts were absolutely excellent. Everything he recommended was spot on and really elevated our dining experience. Service like this truly makes a difference, and Gabriel’s professionalism and genuine hospitality made our evening even more enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back and hope to be seated in his section again!

Was so excited to try Ruggles Black. My husband and I used to go to Ruggles on lower Westheimer 30+ years ago. We now live in Dallas but I had a meeting in Houston so I booked for dinner. Started with the scallops and fried crab spring rolls which were delightful. Husband then had the butternut squash soup - absolutely delicious and for dinner we tried the goat cheese stuffed chicken. All was very good with the seven vegetables on the side like I remember. Our server, Janet was attentive and unobtrusive.

Had an amazing dinner with colleagues last night. From valet to service, everything was seamless and welcoming. We tried the Brussels sprouts, paleo angry shrimp, crab tower, short rib pizza, redfish with spaghetti squash, plus the bread pusding and tiramisu. Every dish was flavorful and beautifully done. The ambiance is romantic and stylish with great music, and even the bathroom is Instagram worthy. We also had the chance to speak with the chef and owner Bruce Molzan, which was a nice touch. Highly recommend for date night or a chic group dinner.

This place is such a cute little spot and I am so glad we decided to try it. From the moment we walked in, the vibe just felt right. It has that cozy and welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to stay a while. The décor is really nice, the lighting is warm, and the music fits perfectly without being too loud. The food was honestly so good. Everything we ordered had great flavor and tasted fresh. You can tell they actually care about what they are serving. The appetizers were delicious, and the main dishes were cooked just right. The drinks were also really impressive, both in how they looked and how they tasted. The staff was super friendly and made the whole experience even better. They checked in often enough to make sure we had what we needed but never made us feel rushed. It really felt like they wanted us to enjoy ourselves. We have not been back yet, but we definitely plan to. I still recommend this spot to friends who visit from out of town. If you are looking for good food, good drinks, and a chill atmosphere, give this place a try. You will not regret it.

An excellent selection of appetizers. We tried curry mussels and paleo Brussels sprouts- both were excellent! Drink menu is great! Many of the items in the menu have an Indian/thai food flavor which make them different than traditional items. I tried curry seafood ramen which was outstanding!! We also tried many other dishes including chicken masala pasta- all of them were delicious! Also, a good selection of keto, and paleo options available. Overall, a very good experience!
