Roasty Chicken is a small, no-frills spot sharing a building with a Shell gas station. There are a few private parking spots out front, but most of the lot is shared with the gas station, so expect to see people pumping gas nearby. When I arrived, there were homeless individuals camping outside, and some even came into the restaurant asking for food. Inside, the space is quite small, with only two tables, making it clear that this place primarily caters to takeout orders. The owner, originally from the Dominican Republic, was friendly and mentioned they’ve been in business for about three years, with most of their sales coming from DoorDash. Their most popular item is the Roasty Combo (a whole chicken, large rice, large beans, and tortillas for $24.99). I was also interested in their Sweet Fried Plantains, but they were out, so I went with Salchipapa ($4.49) and Steamed Mix Vegetables ($3.79) instead. After bringing the food home, my wife and I dug in. The chicken was okay, but it tasted overly salty. Some chicken pieces, particularly the breast, were very dry. The Salchipapa lacked flavor, and while it wasn’t bad, it wasn’t particularly memorable either. My favorite part of the meal was the green spicy sauce, which added a nice kick and helped elevate the chicken. Overall, it was okay. I’m glad I tried it, and the owner was very nice.

If you happen to be in the northern part of H town and are seeking a delectable rotisserie chicken, I highly recommend visiting this establishment. They offer authentic Dominican cuisine, and their beans and rice are exceptionally delicious. These side dishes perfectly complement the chicken, making for a satisfying and enjoyable meal.

The food was delicious and fresh. We ordered the white rice, black beans with steak and onions, spanish rice, pinto beans with fried chicken chunks as well as the basket of shrimp with fries. I recommend the Spanish rice as it's very aromatic and flavorful. The fried chicken was delicous and had a spanish mojo flavor with a hint of squeezed lime on top. We tried the passion fruit and a strawberry aguas fresca drink. They were both great! Highly recommend everyone to give this place a try.

Ordered their food through Uber eats for the first time and had to run here to say how good it is. If I could rate it higher I would! Portions are massive, literally everything I got was better than I could have expected. Chicken is so good along with the garlic dill potatoes, yucca fries and fritter, pinto beans and their salsa. 110/10 I loved it.

Roasty Chicken is my favourite place to get roast chicken and, weirdly, broccoli. The garlic still potatoes are tasty, too. The chicken quarters are a good size and juicy (I get the dark meat). I think the sides are also a good size. The place is small, not fancy, and clean. There are a couple of stools and two tables so you can eat in but most people seem to do takeaway. I gave the "atmosphere" 4 stars because the atmosphere is like a little place by a gas station because that is exactly what it is. I got home with hot, fresh, and tasty food. I have had the Mofongo with Fried Pork Chunks and, while I am not an expert of any kind, it was very good (my partner and parrot agree).
