Food was good, service was ok. The ambiance was cool. I asked my friends to recommend a spot for me to try in the Heights for lunch. Unknowingly, they both recommended this spot in the same conversation. A quick lookup and I noticed that it's supposed to be Modern Vietnamese cuisine. I was excited to give it a try. I arrived in the middle of the lunch rush, where I had wait about 20 minutes for a table. The hostess kept pointing to the bar, but no seats were available. After sitting down and looking at the menu, I noticed that Bun Rieu is on the menu. This is a common noodle dish that is often overlooked. I grew up with this and, IMHO, it's way better than Beef or chicken Pho or Bun Bo Hue. I was excited to try it. I also ordered the egg rolls and lemongrass banh mi. The egg rolls came, and after snapping a photo, I noticed there was no dipping sauce. The server brought it out after I asked. I ate it like my mom showed me, wrapped in lettuce with carrots and dipped in sauce. It was so good, though the rolls were a bit small. The Bun Rieu came out, without a spoon or vegetables. Asking the server if they normally served it without vegetables, she politely asked if I wanted it. Growing up, I would load this with vegetables with a squeeze of lemon, which only complements the seafood and broth in this dish. The broth was nice, and the shrimp meatballs were really good. But I was missing the crab that I know should be in there. But every family has their own recipes. I just never had it without crab but always with vegetables. The lemongrass pork banh mi came out a couple of minutes later and my order was complete. The banh mi was exactly as I imagined it. Crispy bread, lemongrass pork and pickled and fresh veges to liven it up. A bit more staff training and better attention to detail would really give me a better dining experience. Still, I will be going back if I find myself again in the heights.ok

This is a great little neighborhood place that has very friendly staff and they make really Cool and Unique specialty drinks… And the Shaking Beef is so good. The portion is big enough to share for two girls and the Vietnamese Eggrolls are so yummy and they put all the fixings on there. Unlike some other places that just throw a couple of the eggrolls on a plate this has the mint, the cilantro, the shredded carrot and the lettuce…so good. And today we tried the Me So Corny & the Moon Rabbit for drinks. And my sister got a very delicious mai tai that they made from scratch. That’s what’s in the picture. The drinks were very unique and were enjoyable. So it was an all-around great experience and definitely worth checking out. That was my third time there and they have not disappointed. It has been consistent and yummy all three times!

Hana is an amazing server! My “El Tigre” drink was so refreshing and slightly peppery, tasted like a lovely green tomato garden. Our favorite dish was the bone marrow. Love it! Pho broth was amazing. Would love the pork belly more if it was crunchy instead of stewed. Will definitely be back 💖

The name of the restaurant is so cute that my kid couldn’t wait to try it as soon as we heard about it! My kid was so excited, and the experience did not disappoint. The interior design is stylish and welcoming, creating a cozy dining atmosphere. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes with both traditional and creative twists, each one full of surprises. The service is also excellent—friendly and attentive, which made the whole dining experience even better. Highly recommended, and we look forward to visiting again!🐰❤️

Pro-tip - make reservations - otherwise, you might have to sit outside (which I witnessed from all tables - the staff isn’t super attentive). We sat waterless before and after meal. We had three appetizers and main entree before we received our alcoholic beverages - which were awful. However, the food was nice. Salt and papered squid was perfect. Buttery noodles with egg on top, spring rolls and cucumber salad were all enjoyable. The atmosphere was pleasant. However, our mates at the next table brought their dog and foul mouthed daughter - who was drinking and quite loud with her obscenities. I don’t think we’ll be back, but it’s now understandable why there were so many to go orders. Front of house was a dumpster fire. Perhaps they were concerned we would run off without paying the bill. However, the more wait staff hovers waiting for payment - the lower the tip goes. We normally start out at 20-25%. This one got 15%.
