Mico's Hot Chicken

Stopped here in the middle of a storm before heading to the airport and I couldn’t have been happier with my final meal in Houston. Really enjoyed loaded fries and fried pickles that was recommended by staff. Also got the wings and sandwich, light n crispy breading, great spice on the medium probably wouldn’t be able to handle the hot. Banana pudding was perfect texture not too sweet, great single size serving. Thank you Alondra, Ashley, Jacob and Rocky for the great service!

Mico’s Hot Chicken hit the spot. The tenders were hot, crispy, and full of flavor. The bowl was packed with great taste, and my wife really enjoyed the slaw. The spicy margarita was a nice bonus, it definitely completes the meal.

I really hate to have to write this review but we have been a longtime fan of Mico’s, even back when it was just the food truck. My family and I often drive over an hour just to eat here, and we were thrilled when the new location opened. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was disappointing. We arrived around 8pm, and the dining area lights were turned off, which gave the impression that the restaurant was closed. We had to walk in and ask if it was open. When we were placing our order, the staff member at the counter was having a conversation with the cook and wasn’t even listening to us. Our sandwiches were extremely greasy and served on soggy buns, and the loaded fries we ordered came with just five fries ( we counted) something that used to be a much more generous portion. On top of that, the restrooms were in such poor condition that we ended up using the gas station next door instead. The overall vibe from the staff felt disengaged, like they’d rather be anywhere else. Everyone working in the front was on their phone even while packing orders. I truly hope Mico’s can get back to the quality and atmosphere that made us loyal customers.

I went in around 7:30. My meal cost $25 and it was not worth it at all. I got a tenders basket with extra tender and a side salad. The salad came in a fruit cup sized Togo container. The fries tasted like they were in grease that sat there the whole day so did the tenders. Honestly hopdoddu has way better tenders. I used to love this place but it’s gone down since they’ve changed locations.

I placed a DoorDash order from the Shepherd location and received an incorrect order. When I called the restaurant to explain the issue, the manager on duty hung up on me mid-conversation. I attempted to call back multiple times but received no answer. I understand mistakes happen, but the lack of professionalism and customer service was very disappointing.
