I was so excited to try this spot because I’d heard great things about it from people I knew and TikTok. But I can’t help but feel like I wasted $21.65. The Mac and cheese has some white thick powder consistency in it that tastes terrible, I’ve never had Mac n cheese like this before. I gagged after the first bite of it. It almost tastes spoiled, like curdled milk/cheese. The yams were fine, kind of dry. And the turkey meat was alright, along with the rice and gravy and cornbread. Nothing I got was amazing like I’d heard. The Mac and cheese was so bad I couldn’t finish it after the second bite. The food was not even close to being worth the price. I will say that the staff is very very warm and kind. Great service, I’m just terribly disappointed with the food.

Definitely some of the best soul food I’ve had !! I really enjoyed this place and the employees were so friendly !! Will definitely be going back. Friend ordered the red beans and rice and it was delicious as well.

This place is Excellent! From the owner to food and drinks, it is excllent! You feel like everyone was waiting for your arrival as soon as you walk in. It is common for the onwer come out and greet guest along with escorting guest who order takeout to their cars. I can't NOT express how DELICIOUS everything is! To top it off the price is wonderful and service is professional and kind.

The restaurant was empty upon my arrival. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. The place was clean and had a great choice of ambient music playing. I got a fried chicken entree with greens, mac and cheese, and cornbread. It was very good. The chicken was warm but not hot, although it was seasoned well. I mean, not overly spiced, but good flavor for just fried chicken. The chicken was fried hard if you like that. I do, so I was delighted to find that out. The greens were super good. No extra salt, pepper, or hot sauce needed. They good by themselves, like an only child. The mac and cheese was okay. Nothing to recommend but nothing to discourage you from getting it either. The cornbread was good. A real piece of cornbread. Not some corn sweet cake masquerading as cornbread. All the other food options looked delicious. You can check the menu, but the food did pass the eye test. The price was not expensive for the portions. And as I was leaving, business picked up considerably, so it seems locally loved. So I say check it out; you will not be disappointed or leave hungry.

I had the side plate and it was DELICIOUS. I tried the greens, mashed potatoes, blackeyed peas, and fried corn. Everything was great. It was hot, seasoned well, and tasted homemade. You could definitely taste the butter in the mashed potatoes! I am excited to go back and try more! Next on my list is the dressing and red beans and rice. Oh, and I can't say enough about how great the staff were. They were helpful and kind and just added to an overall great experience.
