If you’re craving bold, flavorful halal street food with a fresh and satisfying twist, Abu Omar Halal is one of Houston’s must-try spots. From its origins as the city’s first halal food truck to a beloved multi-location staple, this place has perfected that juicy, perfectly seasoned shawarma that keeps folks coming back bite after bite 🐔🔥. Every visit feels like a celebration of Middle Eastern comfort food — whether it’s their signature chicken shawarma wrap, a hearty lamb gyro, or a vibrant rice bowl piled with fresh toppings and savory sauces. The ingredients taste fresh, the portions are generous, and that rich garlic sauce deserves its own fan club. What really takes the experience up a notch is the balance of quick, friendly service with consistently high quality. Customers love how fast and tasty every order arrives, perfect for a hunger-quenching lunch or dinner on the go. Many regulars swear by this spot for great value and authentic flavor right in the heart of Houston. Whether you’re a shawarma aficionado or just discovering halal gems, Abu Omar Halal delivers vibrant, crave-worthy meals that keep Houston food lovers satisfied time and again. 🌯✨

Really disappointed in recent orders. Food quality is slipping. My most recent order included the hummus which, per menu, is suppose to come "with a side of warm pita." What I received was a large flour tortilla and a container of expired hummus. The container lid was distended and puffy. It hissed when opened. The hummus was bubbly and tasted sour and fermented. There was a fizzy feel to it. Hummus isn't supposed to look and taste like sourdough starter. I also ordered a Palestine orange soda. I regularly buy Palestine brand drinks because I want to support the humanitarian efforts of the Safad Foundation. I wasn't pleased to receive a Sunkist instead. I guess that's better than substituting a Coca-Cola product.

So I ordered a zinger R&B which he said before on the call is gonna take five minutes but my wife told me the Uber deal is better so I did Uber deal and it should be ready by five minutes or six minutes cause I was driving right but it was still not ready and he said like I should be ready in five minutes. You can just come blah blah pick it out whatever but when I get here, oh no still give me five minutes cause I thought he’s a professional he’s been saying just a five minutes gave me that but he never make it ready when you get to the store. Make sure tell him before that to make it ready cause I’m gonna pick up in a five minutes otherwise he’s not gonna get ready for anything for you guys

Great place to get shawarmas late at night or during the day! Good and friendly service! I highly recommend! Their shawarmas were super flavorful, good tasting sauce, loved the bread, and of course the spice and aromatics! The box is a convenient touch too. I’d come back!
