We went during the soft opening. They give you complimentary salad - the dressing is really good. The owner, his mom and the waitstaff were all very pleasant and engaging. The vents at each table are height adjustable which was nice because you don’t leave here smelling like you worked in the kitchen. The food was good as well. Meats are high end quality. Will definitely come back again.

Newly renovated. The place is clean and chic. They have a nice huge bar and chill music making this place a lovely place to hang out not just for the delicious food but also the atmosphere. Service was excellent and I would highly recommend their special menu that comes with free flow of salad, banchan and rice. Tte meat is cooked for you so you don’t end up stinking like you do at the regular Korean BBQ places. There are still a few tables with the traditional BBQ stove if you prefer that option but do make reservations for those tables as they are limited. There’s complimentary valet parking so don’t have to worry about finding a parking spot. Beef brisket was excellent and their beast

Had a spur of the moment dinner here and I was really impressed by the hospitality of the staff. The owner came multiple times throughout our meal to check in and a Tomas helped cook and serve our meal while for us. The meat quality was great and you can tell the business takes pride in quality people and food.

Mapojeong in Houston, Texas, is an absolute gem, especially if you're a fan of chargrilled oysters. These oysters are a standout on the menu—perfectly chargrilled with a smoky, savory flavor that makes them irresistible. Every visit feels special, thanks to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The owner is incredibly sweet and always takes the time to come over and greet us, making the experience feel personal and inviting. However, the service could be a bit better. There have been times when I felt completely ignored by one of the servers, and on another occasion, a different server mentioned she was just too busy. I've had to request a specific server who always takes good care of me, and once on a Wednesday, I was served by a guy at the bar who was pretty great. So, I would say the service can be a bit iffy, depending on the time you go. Despite that, the food and the overall experience still make it a place worth visiting.

Such a chic place with absolutely delicious food! The decor of the space is modern but cozy, and there are plants everywhere to admire. The staff is kind and helpful, and the owner is so friendly and passionate about his menu (and for good reason). The beast fries are flavorful without being greasy, and the mac and corn is wonderfully cheesy. The real star of the show, in my opinion, is the mapo short rib. It has spectacular flavor combinations and nearly melts in your mouth with how tender it is. As a person who doesn't eat red meat often, that is high praise! The dining area and restrooms are wheelchair friendly. The only downside is there are no ADA signs near the restroom. I am not giving a lower score yet due to a lack of proper signage, as the owner assured me they will be installed soon.
