This northeastern China restaurant in Houston Texas looks even more authentic than another one I like very much from Denver Colorado. It’s probably because there are more Chinese customers in Houston. The pork stew 杀猪菜 was a bit over expected. Two pork bones instead of pork belly slices were provided. The soup and pickled cabbage warms up my stomach and stimulates a good appetite. The stir-fried assorted wild mushrooms are terrific. Another dish of fried pancake was also crispy golden. Braised pork tastes sweet with sliced cucumber and green onions and sweet sauce. I wish I can back sometime soon to try other dishes they have.

Don't pass this restaurant up if you're looking for some of the best Chinese food in Texas! Check out all my reviews — with over 35 Chinese restaurants reviewed in the area, I can confidently say this spot has the best overall food. Where to start? Atmosphere: The setting is nice, though it doesn’t feel as upscale as some other places. Service: Fantastic across the board! Our waters were always full, and we never had to worry about running out of rice. Food: This is where Lucky Bento truly shines. Due to a small language barrier, we accidentally ordered four dishes instead of three — which is already a lot for two people — but we had no regrets! Sweet and Sour Chicken: Potentially the best we've ever had. Extra crispy with a honey glaze, perfectly cooked chicken, and some glutinous rice balls (at least that’s what they seemed like) — crunchy, chewy, and absolutely delicious. Spicy Stir-Fried Lamb: The spice was incredibly fresh! I could have eaten this dish all night. Sichuan Crispy Chicken (Peppercorn Chicken): I’ve tried this dish at over 20 restaurants, and while Mala Sichuan (in the same complex) had been my favorite, Lucky Bento might have the new secret to the best version. Perfectly sized, extra-crispy chicken pieces with tender centers — plus ruffled sweet potato fries mixed in! So good. Shanghai Sweet and Sour Ribs: Simply delicious. It's very rare to visit a restaurant and have four dishes that could each be a top-10 contender compared to over 100+ dishes I've tried across 35+ Chinese restaurants. Lucky Bento is an absolute gem!

Very authentic Chinese food with some of the best portions I’ve seen in America! The chef even gifted us a free dish. All the flavors are very different and authentic and I would definitely be coming back a lot!

A pretty decent Chinese restaurant specialized in refined northeastern China cuisine. Food quality was okay, and the taste was good, but not great.

The food here can make me cry. We ordered four dishes. Every dish is impeccable. Why are northeastern people so good at cooking pork! The sour cabbage has such mild but strong flavor. The kidney and liver were cooked barely well done, very tender. Sweet potatoes can have the sugar pulling one-meter long. I cant wait to come back again.
