This bakery has really good birthday cakes and other pastries, such as bread, cookies, pies, and cakes. This is the only place where I want to buy birthday cakes, because their birthday cakes taste so delicious and are just perfect. They have many choices of birthday cake styles and sizes. The service is alright. The staff lacks interpersonal communication skills, such as greeting customers, and they don't seem that friendly to customers. If you want a delicious pastry or birthday cake, then I would highly recommend this bakery for you.

Extremely disappointing experience. I came in previously to buy a single bread item, total under $10, and was told card payment was not allowed — cash only. This policy was not clearly posted, and I was only informed at checkout. For a business operating in the U.S. in 2025, forcing cash for small amounts is unacceptable. There was no reasonable explanation given, just a blunt “cash only.” It felt unprofessional, unfriendly, and deliberately inconvenient. Honestly, this kind of practice makes customers question the business’s transparency. When a store insists on cash for minor purchases, it naturally raises concerns about whether transactions are being properly recorded and reported. That’s not a good feeling to leave a customer with. Plenty of bakeries accept cards without games or excuses. I won’t be returning, and I don’t recommend this place to anyone who expects basic honesty and modern payment standards.

love that kamalan bakery offers such a wide range of both sweet and savory baked goods. the variety is impressive, and each item is massive. that said, their items are pretty mid; some breads taste too subtle, while others are a little overpowering - the black sesame taro bread had lots of taro inside and topped with sliced almonds, but i wish it leaned nuttier and earthier to really match the flavor pairing. it ended up tasting pretty bland - the mango cream cheese bread was soft and fluffy, but it didn't taste like mango at all...it didn't taste like anything? - the coconut milk butter bun was definitely our favorite. it had just the right amount of sweetness, a really tasty sugar crumble on top, and a filling that was perfectly coconuty and buttery - the tiger roll cake had a soft chiffon base with a smooth, beautiful tiger skin. the whipped cream was light and not too sweet, but there was barely any of it; the layer felt a little too thin - the green onion sausage bun was loaded with green onion, but the sausage itself was incredibly salty, and there wasn't enough cheese to balance it out overall, i really appreciate the variety and the generous size of their baked goods. the bread itself is solid and the filling to bread ratio is good, but the flavors could use a bit more balance and refinement

My favorite item at this bakery are their egg tarts. It’s a smooth custard with a cookie like crust. Perfectly balanced and even better when warmed up. I came in on a weekday around 10am and the man working was stocking on his own. Though he was busy, he took his time to help me decide on what to get. The bakery items were still fresh on the rack! This place has always been my go to, definitely support this bakery.

Their red bean paste bread tasted sour and barely any filling inside. Most of their breads are over priced. Won’t be going back.
