Around 8:00 PM tonight, I visited this Kroger location to purchase a 12-pack of beer. I greeted the cashier and presented a valid U.S. driver’s license issued by the State of New Mexico. The cashier examined my ID and stated she was unsure whether alcohol could be sold in Texas using an out-of-state driver’s license. I calmly explained that a New Mexico driver’s license is a valid U.S. ID and that, by that logic, Texas residents would not be able to purchase alcohol in other states either. At that point, the cashier accused me of being rude, which was not the case, and then told me to take my business elsewhere. This interaction occurred in front of other customers. This situation reflects a lack of basic training regarding valid forms of U.S. identification. There are 49 other states in the U.S., all with different driver’s license designs. An employee working in alcohol sales should be able to recognize and accept a valid U.S. driver’s license, regardless of the issuing state. I believe this incident should be reviewed, and additional training provided. Customers should not be denied service or treated disrespectfully simply for having a valid out-of-state ID. After posting this review, I noticed multiple prior reviews describing the same issue. This appears to be a recurring problem, not an isolated incident. Kroger management should be aware and address this to prevent further customers from experiencing the same situation. Cashiers name is Myrta

WARNING TO FAMILIES, PARENTS w\ children 🚨I had an extremely disturbing and uncomfortable experience at this 43rd st Kroger location involving an employee named 🆘 Antonio Zakaria . 🚨This happened on a SUNDAY, when the store was busy with families and children. He was bald, he looks about 60 years old ,(he looks white? I think?) big nose and wearing a grey security shirt, which made his behavior even more alarming given the position of authority he appeared to hold. The staring was unsettling and frightening, and I could feel my daughter tense up as she sensed my fear. I didn’t feel safe, and neither did my daughter. The way he was staring at my daughter and me was suspicious, creepy, invasive, and deeply unsettling. His behavior made us feel watched, unsafe, and genuinely threatened. I was too frightened to speak up in the moment, that’s how intimidating he was. This is completely unacceptable, especially in a family-oriented store. I’m posting this to urgently warn other families: protect your children from Antonio Zakaria . His suspicious and inappropriate conduct or behavior should never be tolerated in a place where children and families shop. If he’s bold enough to do this on camera, there’s no doubt his behavior is far worse when no one is watching and the cameras are off. This is disturbing and dangerous. Kroger must take immediate action** now. ** I strongly urge Kroger management and corporate to take immediate and serious action. Customers, especially children, must be protected from this kind of disturbing behavior from the Kroger security named ANTONIO ZAKARIA that works on SUNDAY. Kroger 43rd st: Step up. Do better. Protect your customers and children from the kroger security named ANTONIO ZAKARIA! To the kroger on 11th st , thank you for bring the attention to this matter! pls help us at the kroger on 43rd st!!!!!!

The guy that works in the deli has poor communication skills and does a really bad job at following basic instructions. Since when do you leave the Styrofoam container sitting on the glass with the sides on top. Didn't ask if we wanted to pay for it there , did we want a plastic ware pack so we could eat , did we want some sauces or even if we wanted anything else. He is very rude that isn't the way the workers should be acting. Sell that chicken and the rest of those sides don't just ignore the customer. That mashed potatoes didn't come with gravy since when? I just didn't like the over all attitude he was giving us. If you don't want to work go home. I think at this point Kroger doesn't even care. They do have lots of prepackaged food in the deli area but warm food deli forget it. The chicken looks great but the guy acted like he was taking it home and I was cutting into his meal later. Not sure why I didn't get sauce with them expensive strips but I should have because they was very dry. I think as far as customer service is concerned they failed horribly. As I was leaving I told the security and he didn't even act surprised. He said the man always has a bad attitude let him make it. Let him make it man come on let me make it I was about to buy a family piece chicken box and he stopped me with the way he threw my stuff up on the glass. Like no sir I don't want nothing else from you or Kroger acting like that. So yeah I don't like the deli man but they got good food there if you don't have to deal with anyone to get it.

I have shopped at this Kroger for over 8yrs. It is a location/timing/tasked thing yes. It was not always this view. And before I start I HAVE HAD LITERALLY EVERY EMPLOYEE SMILE AND LAUGH WITH ONLY PERSONAL CHOICED🤷🏿‍♂️. This STILL was not enough to out way the location/timing/tasked. Over the years I have seen a blatant allowance of deteriation from disgruntled employees that are pressured by mgmt and have forgotten that the image is supposed to be family. Am I wrong? I get to watch your cartoon commercials acting like it's a circus with pom poms and cotton candy and everyone matter only to come in the store and notice what you could used to do but it's obsolete now 1. You could shop through the store and not have employees with TRUCKS acting as if your in their way. 2. You could look at the shelf tag and know what the price is (3-4 prices listed if you have or do something). 3. You could have more than one register with a cashier and not offer me some B/S scenario where you can't see it in theory. 4. This results in forcing your customers to become your employees All while employees who are sitting there watch dogging you treating you as thiefish could be on the register. 5. Shopping baskets had personality on your shopping trip from a basket to a buggy to a shopping cart to a kids go cart to a scooter. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT AVAILABLE (very, very limited! 6. Knowledgeable and experienced employees willing to answer and help. You are left with employees that are overworked and in a time crunch nowhere near enjoying their job. 7. Good chicken! Not dried chicken? 8. Consistency in the deli. I have kids with autism that like to eat the same things. One day they have it next day they don't. One week they have it the next month they're out. 9. The security seems less inclined to help in any situation more inclined to lean up against anything and everything that's available. 10. I've been in the store many times where there's been corporate visits or group walks. They show their fake and it's embarrassing. The same people that walk past me everyday all of a sudden are willing to help in any way. And trust me it lasts for a day. Like I said I continue to shop here on the necessity. But I'm tired of it and I don't want Kroger to think that they're getting away with one. And if this is my outlet then I will use it to inform the public. Once again not a one-time shopper but a yearly shopper.

One star is too much. I've been here a few times. There's a young man who works at the service counter, he's very disrespectful and he knows it's okay to be disrespectful because management isn't going to do anything about it. I went in today and was totally disrespected by a deli worker, I asked one of the nice ladies as self check out to give me a manager she called for one but they never came. She also informed me that he probably wasn't going to come because he really doesn't care like that. So a trash manager will produce trash workers. I go to this store out of pure convenience, but I will blame myself for going back after being disrespected the first time. I know nothing is going to be resolved. The first time I went and was disrespected by the young man behind the service counter, I spoke with the manager who literally looked at me like I was trash. Like I said a trash manager will produce trash workers, and that only turns this Kroger into a trash store.
