The customer service has never been an issue here anytime I've gone. And the food was better when I would go in the past. But today, I was highly disappointed. I got the grilled pork chops with seafood gravy. The rice was not cooked all the way and there were alot of hard pieces, the so called gravy was very watery amd looked like chicken broth and didn't have much flavor and there were more onions on the late than shrimp and sausage. And for $29, it was so not worth the drive or money. Maybe next time I will stick with a chicken salad or burger basket. The owner was nice and gave me a drink with my food.

My first time in Houston,I wanted some home cooked food ,so I googled soul food near me and I choose J&J Lounge and I tell you the food was Awesome,hand made burgers and seasoned great fries also,so I ordered a double cheese burger and 8 Lemon Pepper wings,, Delicious and Delicious I will be going back definitely.The atmosphere was great and the food was Delicious,if you're new in town , before you go anywhere else,go to J&J Lounge....

This was my first time going there in years. After tell my out of town friend that it was a great down lounge, I was really finnalldisappointed. We told the cashier that we wanted to eat in. We paid for the food and waited almost an hour to be served. When we got our burgers they were wrapped to go. We asked why and she said that he didn't feel like making baskets. The fries were cold, so we sent them back and they bought us some hot fries. We wasn't told that the wait would be long. I won't be going back nor will I recommend them to anyone else

I went for the 1st time on Saturday Oct. 18, 2025. I ordered a turkey burger basket & 6pcs lemon pepper wing basket that food was sooo good. I'm definitely plan on going back. The inside was clean I enjoyed the music that was playing I took my food to go but next time I will eat in.

My first visit to this joint was extremely pleasurable. So much so, I wanted to DJ a show. After speaking to Red during subsequent visits, he had reservations about what I wanted to do. I was persistent as I fell in love with tha pork chop sandwich. Something happened that changed Red’s attitude towards me. It may have been my use of colorful language common in tha ‘hood. I can’t go back. But I highly recommend this place for several reasons. Take my word, U will love it!
