J & J Kitchen Ramen and sushi

The tuna roll and hot mama were absolutely perfect!! The tuna was so fresh and upon first bite I closed my eyes and proceeded to hear angels singing. Absolutely loved this place and the owner was so sweet and attentive, she rocks! Definitely coming back and making this place my go to for sushi!!

Went here for the first time since my friends recommended and it was so close by. New menus compared to what they told me and we all ordered ramen. Biggest red flag was the seasoned egg looked like a hard boiled egg instead the traditional soft yolk. I gave it a try since there was a line of people waiting for their food or check out. The broth was incredibly salty and the noodles were soggy but not the worst. It was ramen noodles thankfully and I asked for spoons to help eat and was given regular spoons instead of soup spoons. No music played and one of my friends soup tasted like a sour broth that was similar to a vinegar taste. They were shocked because they've been here before and never had issues. They told me how they even met the owner who would check every table. The price wasn't worth the food quality but the portions were big. The sushi pricing was crazy for me. $18 for 9 pieces of a specialty roll. Not sure if it was a rough night or if management has changed.

After reading the great reviews and high ratings, we had to stop by and try it for ourselves. Spoiler alert...we were not disappointed! First impression was that the restaurant was nice and clean, we were greeted by Jasmine (the owner) and seated in one of the booths, which was quite comfortable compared to the sinking in feeling of many other booths. She brought us complimentary garlic edamame which were delicious and still had a nice little crunch to them (not overcooked). We ordered the Tom Yum Chicken Paitan and the Miso Pork Paitan. Both were hearty and tasted very good, the broth had a nice flavor and the meats were tender. We also ordered the grilled beef over fried rice and I have to say that the fried rice is a must try, tasted very authentic and delicious. I would have preferred the meat in smaller portions so I could mix it in with the rice and of course Jasmine told us they could accommodate that next time. Finally, I ordered the Chicken Katsu bowl over fried rice a couple of days later to-go, mainly because I was craving the fried rice! The katsu had good flavor as well and paired nicely with a side of the pork broth. We're happy that we found a spot near our house that we enjoy, we will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu!

This was my first time coming to this restaurant with my girlfriend and all the food was amazing. We couldn't pick just one item so we ordered off of the separate lunch menu they had (very affordable with great options), and the full menu. We ended up going with 2 big extremely full ramen bowls, 2 delicious pork egg rolls, 2 different types of fresh yummy sushi rolls, 4 perfectly cooked gyoza, and a side house salad which was way better than we expected for a side salad. The staff was incredibly kind and personal with their service. We cannot wait to go back and try more of their gigantic double sided menu (that I forgot to take a picture of in all the excitement). Also for what it's worth the music selection was great and at a perfect volume. Loud enough to enjoy but quiet enough to have a normal conversation.
