Late-Night Cookie Heaven — Fresh, Delicious, and Full of Vibe ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 out of 5) We absolutely loved our visit to Insomnia Cookies. One of the biggest perks is that they’re open super late, which makes it a perfect stop after a night out or when that sweet tooth hits at midnight. Located right next to Rice University, it’s clearly a popular spot for college students—and for good reason. The space itself is small with limited seating, so it’s definitely more of a grab-and-go kind of spot, but that didn’t take away from the experience. The cookies were warm, fresh, and absolutely delicious. We tried several flavors and were impressed by the variety and quality. Parking is limited, as it’s in a busy shopping strip, but we didn’t mind too much. We ended up eating the cookies in the car, then went back in to wash our hands and toss our trash—and the staff was totally cool about it. Speaking of which, service was wonderful—friendly, fast, and upbeat. The music playing inside was eclectic and fun, giving the space a cool, laid-back vibe. It’s the kind of place that makes you smile just walking in. Final thoughts: Whether you’re finishing a night out with friends, looking for a sugar fix, or just passing through the area, Insomnia Cookies is a must-stop for dessert lovers. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re nearby.

Love the cookies here!! They’re not too crispy yet not overly doughy like other places, and with the ice cream on top is next level! I tried the sugar cookies with vanilla and cookie dough ice cream and my taste buds will never taste anything as good as that combination again. The cashier is always very friendly too and she attends to everyone in line with speed so I never feel like I’m waiting around in line for too long either. If you have a sweet tooth I would definitely make a pit spot here if you’re in the area! update: I came back to try the other limited edition cookies and wow that’s a cookie if I’ve ever had one! The cashier is always so nice and I couldn’t understand someone having a bad experience here since all the staff are always so friendly, I personally have always had pleasant experiences and anytime I walk in I’m always promptly greeted with a smile on their face! Especially whenever I order online I love seeing the cute doodles on the bottom of my receipt. Definitely my go-to bakery!

While we usually love Insomnia Cookies when we can find a location, this experience was enough to drive over 20 minutes across town to go to another location where we can be treated with respect. Respect that we always give others. The manager Alani should be removed from her position, and maybe from employment altogether. This was the worst service I've ever had at any establishment, much less a cookie place where I can bring my 4 year old daughter. Alani felt the need to tell us that "we need to tell her to stop touching things on the counter" again, she's 4. She doesn't see the world like an adult and yes, sometimes she has to be corrected. Not like that. She was publicly embarrassed and even told my wife "I put the box right back, mommy. I'm sorry." She didn't run around screaming, pick up and throw anything, and didn't insult any employees. So why did she feel the need to treat us that way? It was completely unprofessional and the events afterwards were as well. I hope the ownership takes the correct measures so this kind of business ceases to continue. If you own the other location close to UofH, the employee there is the perfect example of a model employee. She was great in every aspect!

Cookies were good had the salted caramel 5 out of 5. Smores tasted like straight chocolate, if you like chocolate alot youll love that one. Both cookies were fresh crispy outside gooey inside, salted carmel was warm but smores was hot. Large cookies are almost $5 but are the size of about 2 and half small cookies. Will likely be back.

I tried the vegan options. My favorite was the chocolate chunk! Next was confetti. My taste buds didn’t care for the double chocolate chunk or gluten free chocolate chunk. My cookies were fresh and warm! It’d also be nice to have a dairy-free ice cream option. I’d come back for more vegan chocolate chunk 🙂.
