Hunan Garden Baobae

If you grew up in Katy, Texas in the 90s or early 2000s, you probably remember Hong Kong Gardens. I started going there when I was five years old and we ate there multiple times a week. When they retired, I genuinely missed that style and quality of Chinese food for years. Then I found Hunan Garden Baobae — and it’s the closest thing I’ve had since. The food has that same delicious, comforting, high-quality flavor I remember. The eggrolls are perfectly crispy and packed with flavor, just the way they should be. Every dish tastes fresh, well-prepared, and consistent. It’s the kind of place you can go to anytime, whether it’s lunch or dinner, and know you’re getting something great. The lunch specials are especially a fantastic value. If you’ve been searching for that classic, flavorful Chinese food experience, this is it.

If you have not been here, you really need to treat yourself! The dining room is clean and decorated cute. The service is outstanding and the food is fresh and tasted delicious! I took pictures and added below of the entrees we ordered. I highly recommend the Shrimp & Chicken in Birds Nest and the Walnut Shrimp. We went at dinner time, the entrees are large enough to share. I think I’ve found my new favorite Chinese food spot!

The place was pretty quiet during the week. Service was pretty fast. The dinner portions are enough to share and the food was pretty fresh and tasty. Overall food price for the quantity and quality of food. Highly recommended

Hunan Garden BaoBae is for sure favorite for Chinese. Their Crispy Fish dish is so fabulous. We love the Shrimp with Vegetables, dumplings , Happy Family, Barbeque Ribs & Moo Shoo with fried rice & Soups .It is a beautiful cafe . They do have a full bar. It is located where Fortune Village was nice remodel. Lunch specials . Our very first time at Hunan Garden Baobae. The atmosphere is very relaxed and feels very clean. We started our order with Wonton Soup. The soup was served hot and tasted great. We also ordered Fried Pork Dumplings as well as Steamed Vegetable Dumplings. Both were made fresh upon request. Very tasty and hot. I ordered the Orange Chicken with Steamed Rice. My brother ordered the Happy Family with Lo-main. My bf ordered the General Tso's Chicken with Fried Rice. All was great and freshly served. For it being our first time, we loved it! We definitely recommend it. Five Stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
