The lady at the register was nice and very welcoming, clean restaurant. But food was okay, potatoes was overly cooked and burnt. So either the cook didn’t clean the grill off or we got served old potatoes and was reheated and grilled… ever bit tastes like burnt char …I was upset with that but the cauliflower wings were pretty good. Called to let them know about my potatoes no answer …

Popped in and tried it out. The food was not bad just ok. The service was great, the server answered all of my questions and made great recommendations in regards to allergies and likes. The meatloaf had good favor, was just a little dry and the chicken didn't have much flavor. Didn't care for the brown gravy as ot had a tangy flavor. The potatoes were delicious.

This the original location and a historic place in Houston for pies. Also this is where the idea foe the Compaq luggable was drawn up on a napkin or receipt. It's in the movie and other documentaries. Had the Carrot Pecan - I know, not a pie -which was awesome. Not dry. Just right, especially with an ice cream kicker. Everyone loved their selections. Open everyday including Christmas Day. It was quite a busy day. Always loved this place going back to 1984 for me. Definitely recommend for great food, not only pies and to see a cross-section of our city. Enjoy!

I like the food here, but the waitress only came by three times. The first was to take our order, the second time was to bring us our food, and the last time was to make sure we were still doing fine, but we didnt need her anymore at that time. I need her to come before the last visit so I can ask for a box to take my food home so I ended up giving the rest to my boyfriend to finish.

First time to try House of Pies. It didn't not disappoint. We picked up three desserts to go. Cheesecake topped with strawberries. Tres Leche cake . And Carrot cake. All three were delicious.
