Hippo Burgers

We stopped by Hippo Burger due to a recommendation from a friend and can clearly see what the hype was about. Service was prompt and friendly. The indoor dining area was also clean and very sparse. The food was simple but well executed! We ordered two items for lunch: Hippo Blue Burger - a must have for those who LOVE blue cheese! The creaminess of the blue cheese combined with the crispy bacon was just delicious 🤩 Hippo Eggvolution Burger - the fried egg with a runny center made this burger rich and indulgent! Make sure to have napkins handy as this burger could get a bit messy! Both burgers came with fries and a medium drink. We also upgraded one of the orders to sweet fries. Great portion size and the fries were seasoned to perfection! The price of each combo meal was a bit pricey at $14.99 but the quality made it worth it! We would definitely pay a bit extra compared to the typical fast food burger to come back here again 😊 We cannot wait to return and sample the rest of the menu 😋

On my first visit I ordered for pick up and called ahead. It was ready fast and the food was so good! I got a mushroom burger, my bf ordered a Mexican burger, and order of chilli cheese fries and Cajun fries. I don’t like cheese and didn’t see the mushroom had cheese but it was still surprisingly good! my bf liked his order too. Can’t wait to try the bacon burger next.

I am AUTHENTICALLY AGITATED by this BLT Burger and Cajun Fries from Hippo Burgers! First of all, I went in and placed my order for takeout. The menu was clear and Israel took my order right away. From the time I walked in, to when Israel hand-delivered my order, it was a total of 6 minutes. Yes- cooked to order. Really?? When I got home (and got sidetracked) 40 minutes later, I discovered that my order was completely ACCURATE, PACKAGED WELL, and NOT GREASY! But then I bit into the burger and went into a 45-second shock 😮, because it was a HOMEMADE PATTY, FRESH BUN, and THEE BEST SEASONED BURGER I have ever had!!! I can easily exaggerate, but not on this. OMG- Whoever has been eating at Hippo Burgers on Hwy 6, and isn't raving about it, I'm concerned about your character. 😂 Other burgers will never taste the same to me. This has kicked up my standard to a whole. new. level. Oh, and the Cajun Fries were on point! Perfectly seasoned and I even ate them cold. So good! Why am I authentically agitated? Because Hippo Burgers confirmed that it shouldn't be so damn hard to get simple, but mind-blowing food, quick service, and for less than $15 in Houston. Delicious! Finally an affordable burger that is as awesome as the pricey gourmet burgers. These aren’t your average burgers, though. Mine had a fried egg. My mates’s had guacamole. The fries were cooked and seasoned to perfection—we had garlic fries—so the garlic was just an added touch. Everything was fabulous. Totally unpretentious. Real burgers for real people. Can’t want to go back and try the chili dog. My only bone to pick is they serve Pepsi products. To each their own.

The male cashier, as well as the young lady that handed me my food, were welcoming and helpful. They have a very clean and relaxing environment. So, after my daughter's basketball game, we came here and ordered for the first time. BLT HIPPO BURGER, THE SPECIAL BURGER, GARLIC CHEESE FRIES, SWEET POTATO FRIES, CHILI CHEESE FRIES, KIDS MEAL CHEESEBURGER. My husband hated the minced garlic fries (i think yall should use garlic butter or just regular garlic seasoning instead of the minced garlic) and said the blt lacked seasoning. The special burger was good. The edges of the meat patty were just crunchy. Everything else was great, according to the kids. For $45, it was pretty good.
