Maybe this place is better at night but lunch was a mess. There was one other couple here at the time so maybe I should have taken that as a sign? The waiter wasn’t friendly and never smiled. For a place that touts “southern hospitality”, y’all have some work to do. I ordered the fish and chips and my husband got a poboy. Both were very subpar. The batter and the fish were mushy and the fries were wet. They had been in oil far too long, and the oil wasn’t hot enough. Clearly. Whoever was cooking that day needs a lesson in frying. And the Dr Pepper is disgusting. It taste like diet cherry coke or something. After eating here, I decided to read the reviews and quite a few talked about the strong cherry flavor of drinks so obviously this is an issue that needs to be remedied. Just be safe and ask for a can. On our way out no one said bye or thank you. And we still never got a smile. The service industry is brutal these days.

Found this gem while out and about and enjoyed a nice dinner with a pretty view. The bar had plenty of seats but we opted to sit on the terrace, which was nicely decorated with patio lights. Food was good, but wish they had more wine variety. Good ambience overall.

Houston Heights neighborhood is one of the happening places in Houston and you don't want to miss Harold's when you are here. We went here for a friend's birthday lunch and we had a great experience. We wanted a a table by the window and the staff was very accomodating in getting us the table that we wanted. We were a big group and they were extremely patient with us. 10/10 for their service. We ordered a lot of food and everything was really good. Their pizza is the one that I will always remember. Their crab cakes and red snapper fish is worth a try. The food portions were large. I tried everything from friend's orders and I was not a big fan of their pasta. There are a lot of drinks options to select from and we got their Fitzgerald - please try and you will definitely like it. Overall it was a good experience.

Really enjoyed eating upstairs with a view of the classic heights area. Very clean and nicely decorated. Food was delicious. We came at lunch so it was too hot to sit on the patio but will come back for happy hour next time once it gets cooler out. I took a star off because the service was sooo slow. Only one other table that had already finished eating by the time we were sat. Took us over an hour.

I was, unfortunately, pretty disappointed with this place. I was drawn in by the deviled eggs with fried chicken on top, and saw what looked to be a great selection of food to choose from. The deviled eggs were the only flavorful item out of the several we selected. It seems like almost everything else is cooked without any salt or seasonings. The staff is friendly, but rarely around when needed. Overall, I don't think I'd return since there are other better food options nearby.
