Prices are fair. Aesthetics are nice. The food is okay. Left feeling underwhelmed after trying 4 different hand rolls - one of which was the special. There isn’t enough flavor diversity between rolls and it’s weird how it comes out with a very prominent temperature conflict - the fish is super cold and the rice is hot. I understand fish should be cold until served but I do think the material temp. difference negatively affects the overall flavor profile and experience.

This is one of my bestie’s fave spots and easy and chill for us to catch up at lunch. Also an easy spot to take my teenager for a little mom/son date. It’s quick, bar seating and chill vibe. We typically go for a later lunch or happy hour and have always found seating. The place is intimate and actually a cool casual first date spot (rec lunch). Their sushi is hand roll style and I can usually eat 3 rolls. They have a nice lunch special with 3 rolls and soup or salad for $21 and a great happy hour menu. The cocktails are a little sweet for me and they serve house wine, so I prefer to ask for a martini or ranch water. Oh or Japanese whiskey. This is one of our last minute meet up go to places for something quick and easy. The staff is always super friendly.

We came during happy hour and drinks wete $7. Pretty cosy handroll bar set up. Small menu with a variety. Handrolls came with warm rice and crispy nori/seaweed which was chefs kiss! This combo has to be prepared freshly prior serving to avoid soggy rice and they nailed it. Sushi chefs also kept an eye on our pace so our plate was never empty! Price and food were reasonable - will be back. Ordered today’s special octopus crudo and a set of 4 and 5 handrolls. The difference in the set of 4 was a salmon poke handroll which was delightful - great choice of salmon which was on the fattier thus richer side. The set of 5 had 2 different rolls compared to set of 4 which was a hamachi poke roll and fried shrimp roll. The hamachi poke roll came with a spicy sweet sauce which was light and palatable. The fried shrimp roll was regular tempura. The remaining/shared rolls were fried oyster, spicy tuna and blue crab. They were surprisingly light and had complimentary sauces. Happy hour snacks - croquette with curry and tsukune. Pretty worthwhile. We got the umeboshi and virgin lychee which were yum. Will definitely be back!

Amazing little Gem in the Heights. Best staff. Craft drinks made by Mixologists. Happy hour menu is amazing. Sushi beyond delicious. Highly recommend checking out this spot, along with their sister bar connected next door. Will not disappoint!

I enjoyed Hando; the service was great and the weekday lunch menu is good and well priced. The handrolls were good, but not amazing. My favorite one was the hamachi roll, which was truly delicious. Fish quality in the salmon roll could have been better, it tasted a bit old (4/5 stars).
