I walked in after a long day, and was greeted by the sweetest man. The food was amazing and extremely authentic. I had the pabellón cachapa, absolute 1000/10 I will def go back because it is worth the 40 min drive

This is a small, but nice, and clean place. Food and prices are OK. Family own and operated so we are adding an extra star for that. For a better experience try a late breakfast or an early lunch. Since the place is small it gets full easily and there is no 'elbow space.' Or order to go. Limited, but free parking in the back. It has some unusual and tasty dishes to try like arepa with eggplant and sandwiches made with plantains instead of bread! Coffee is good. We dined in, but ordered something to go and they wrote a little message on the box. We though that was a nice touch :)

We ordered plantain tequeños, highly recommend, for me 4 pieces are not enough! They are super delicious with the nata and you would like to eat 4 more, also we ordered 4 empanada, 2 cheese, 1 cheese with plantain and 1 Chicken, they are tiny as well but the sauce and the ingredients were very tasty! Also the last one was the waffle cachapa, I think is a new item in their menu and it is a very unique and cool concept! It was amazing! I expected more corn flavor in the waffle bread but it was still good! The big scoop of nata is perfect!

Some time ago, I visited Gusto Gourmet with my family while we were on vacation in Houston, Texas, and it was a very pleasant experience. This Venezuelan food spot really impressed us—we tried the cassava fritters (buñuelos de yuca) with papelón syrup, which were extraordinary, as well as the golfeado with cheese, which we absolutely loved. We also had chicha, and passion fruit and soursop juices, plus some delicious empanadas. Everything was truly tasty and it was definitely worth going out of our way to enjoy a little taste of home. The place is easy to access, the service was friendly, and the prices matched the quality of the food and service. Overall, I’d say it’s 100% recommended if you’re looking for authentic Venezuelan food in the U.S.

I’ve been visiting this restaurant since I moved to Houston three years ago. All I can say is that it has seen better days. The food used to be really decent, but over time it has gotten really bad and has nothing to do with authentic Venezuelan food. As a frequent customer, I recommend bringing the Venezuelan vibe back... improve the food, bring Oriana to the front, and add some Venezuelan decor and soft music in the background. I was there on 12/30, and it felt soulless.
