Can you believe that this place was up in flames a year ago? Now it's back in business and smells so fresh. So many upgrades, come see for yourself!! Let's start with a few changes. They now have almost 20 TVs so there are lots of places to view your sports or shows. The surround sound that they had installed is phenomenal, it's loud and clear! Something I want to see is how they handle football season. If I can watch my team in a corner by myself this place will be my spot forever. The layout that they have now is so much more open and spacious. Now let's talk about alcoholic beverages. They have draft beer so around 10+ spouts and they are fully stocked on spirits. So pick your poison. The bartender is so responsive and good at their job. The food is amazing!!! Try it! I recommend the wings! The menu has a lot of options. But something I like the most is the condiment caddy. It has all your needs. COME HERE BRING YOUR GROUPS AND HAVE FUN! The most important thing is that the people are cool and the employees are relaxed and patient. Remember this spot is still new, so give it some time to develop. I live down the road so I will be a frequent flyer!! **Oh by the way if the ASTROS are playing they give jello shots to all patrons when a HOMERUN is made! They are strong and delicious.** **They also have a jukebox machine to play music so come play your jams when there isn't sports on the TVs** **clean restrooms too!** **I would like to see some live music coming soon!**

My friend’s CPA is across the street from the restaurant and we decided to stop in on a Sunday after church. Griff’s is not a place that we had eaten before so we were pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff and service. The food was delicious and every time the Texans scored they gave out free Jell-O shots! We’ll definitely visit again!

This is the worst steak night I’ve ever been to. It took 30-40 minutes to get waited on, then another 40 minutes to get served. Steak was dry and well done despite being asked how I’d like it cooked (medium rare). Potato was undercooked, cold, and sad. I felt bad for the bartender because it looks like she is responsible for tending bar and providing service to all of the tables, which just isn’t feasible, and it’s not right that her tips should suffer because she’s being given the impossible task of keeping up with all of that while 3 other guys cook subpar steak. I’m honestly very easy to please as far as food to the point that my boyfriend calls me a garbage disposal, but this just wasn’t it. We couldn’t get served again either, so the option to buy more drinks wasn’t there. On top of this, I’d tried to stop by Griff’s fairly recently because I hadn’t realized they were back, and I waited around 15 minutes and there just wasn’t anyone in the empty bar on a weekday night to take my order. I actually called the bar hoping someone would come up front to answer the phone and I could get my order taken, but nobody came. When I finally walked outside to leave, the dude with the beard was out back smoking and chilling. I keep trying to come here, but the service is just so terrible that it’s not possible.

I had a great time here! It was my last night in Houston and I was dying for an Irish pub near my hostel. Found Griff’s and spent a few hours there. I sat at the bar, drank, ate, and met a lot of cool people. All on a Monday night. Metro Detroiter approved :) I was there in mid-August and I was told about the fire. It looked fixed up well so I couldn’t even tell, but the stories I was told about that place had me laughing a lot. I love a good dive, and even better if everyone speaks fondly of its good ol days.
