I ordered the Taro Milk Tea with pearls and gave it 5/5. The taro flavor was rich and creamy without being cloying. Pearls were the right chew and complemented the drink. Staff were efficient and the shop was clean. Great choice if you want a reliably excellent taro milk tea in Katy.

Gongcha Katy is a fantastic spot for bubble tea lovers! The drinks are freshly made and you can customize them to your liking with different levels of sweetness and ice. The atmosphere is clean and spacious, making it a great place to hang out with friends. The staff is friendly and efficient, ensuring a pleasant experience. I highly recommend trying their popular drinks like the Dirty Brown Sugar Milk Tea. This Christmas, the shop has the cutest gingerbread-shaped cups, and my daughter insists on buying one to add to her collection. It's definitely one of my go-to places for a refreshing drink.

This is one of our favorite places in the Katy Asian Town. While many offer boba teas, these are the best & the staff are always super friendly. Plus, you get points & discounts when you enter your phone number. The Creme Brulee is my absolute favorite!

When visiting Katy Asian Town, I usually look for something that serves both food and drink. As I make my way through the many eateries, I have come across some that don’t have any food options at all, only tasty beverages. One of them is Gong Cha. Gong Cha has a small interior that was clearly designed to handle a large standing crowd. It seats just a small number of people, about 25. The bulk of the customers who visit will order a drink and then leave and that is why there is a large, standing space right in front of the counter. You order, pick up your drink at the end of the counter, and if you’re like most guests, you will likely take your drink and continue on your way. Tea is the specialty at Gong Cha. You can order from an assortment of traditional teas, tea lattes, milk teas, slushies, and more. There are only a few coffee drinks, so make sure when you arrive that you have an unquenchable taste for tea, and you won’t be disappointed. One thing I have noticed here that is different from other tea shops is that they try to balance out the fruit flavored teas with other, non- fruit options. They don’t serve as many fruit teas as other establishments. Sure, they have a few, but the bulk of the options feature heartier, sweeter choices like brown sugar milk tea, honey milk tea, and so on. The slushies have more fruit options than the regular tea so if you want fruit, you may want to focus on that part of the menu. I like the option to request reduced sugar, if you prefer, and less ice. They ask this with each order and it’s great for those who are trying to watch their sugar intake and/or make sure they get more beverage than ice. The drinks are quite good, although many of them are on the sweeter side. But again, you can always request a little less sugar which you may opt to do, considering the sweetness levels of some of these beverages. I love Katy Asian Town. It is one of my favorite local places to visit with my teenagers for food and drink. When a drink is all we want, Gong Cha is a great option. The focus only on the beverages and serve enough variety and tasty choices to make Gong Cha a welcome treat any day, any time.

This used to be 4 stars for me, but I feel like the chain as a whole has become less fresh and authentic to me as time went on. I first tried this place back in 2019 and loved it, but especially with the tapioca controversy that rose in the past two months, I'm not sure I'll visit as often anymore.
